チューリップが終わったらポットの植え替えをしますし、草抜きの時に使う手袋もそろそろ新しいのが欲しいですし、なんと言ってもお天気が良くなって来てそろそろ夏の植物を植える時期なのでどんなものがあるか見て見たくて、ガーデンセンターに行って来ました。イギリスでは、ガーデンセンターはお年寄りの溜まり場のようになっていて（笑）、あ〜、わたしたちもお年寄りなのだなと実感します。やはり、植物を植えようと思う時期だからでしょうか、今日は週末ではないのにとても混んでいました。

We went to a garden centre this aftenroon because when the tulips are gone, we’ll be re-potting all the pots and I also wanted some new gloves for weeding.  Besides, the weather has been relatively good and it’ll be time for planting summer flowers soon, so I wanted to see what they have.  Garden Centres in England are places where you’ll see full of ‘elder’ people so when we go there I realise we are also ‘elder’ people.  It was very busy with them today even though it’s not a weekend, I suppose they also felt like seeing and/or getting summer plants.

ガーデンセンターにはお昼頃に行って、さくっとお昼を食べることが多いです。大きなカフェがあって、多くの方がランチをされています。わたしはいつも同じ、グリル野菜とモッツァレラのパニーニ。１、２度他のものを食べたこともありますが、やっぱりあれにすれば良かったと思うので（笑）。夫はサラミやターキーの入ったパニーニでした。ここのチップスはカリッとしていて美味しいのですが、パニーニの量が多いのでいつもほとんど残します、もったいないな、と思うのですが。

We often go there around lunch time and have a quick lunch at their cafe, which is quite large.  It was quite busy with people today.  I almost always have ‘grilled vegtables & mozzarella cheese panini.  I’ve tried other items a few times but I always regretted so I’ve been sticking with it.  My husband had a salami & turkey panini.  The panini is very filling so we leave most of the chips even though they do make great chips.

表玄関のところに吊るしているハンギングパスケットを買い替えました、お花が既に植っているものです。以前は自分たちで苗を買って植えていたのですが、面倒になってしまいました。バスケットの種類も色々なくて、もっと大きなものがあれば自分たちで植えたいところですが、小さなものしか見つかりません。写真を撮り忘れましたが、濃い赤とピンク系のペチュニアとナメシアが植えてあるものにしました。大きく育つようにほとんど短くカットしてしまったので、少し育ってから写真を撮ります。夫はいつもわたしがお花を切っているとせっかく咲いているのにもったいないと言うのですが、切った方が大きく育つのです。うるさいのでいくつか残しておきましたが（笑）。

We bought 2 hanging baskets with plants to hang at our front porch because the old ones didn’t survive.  We used to buy plants and re-pot them but we got lazy.  There aren’t many different kinds of baskets here so they don’t look very different.  If we could get much larger baskets I would prefer potting them myself.  I forgot to take photos of them when we bought them and I have already cut them back, so I’ll take photos once they look nicer.  My husband hates it when I cut them back as soon as we buy them but that is the key to growing them full.  He was grumbling he didn’t like me to cut the flowers off so much that I left just a few in each basket for him.
