ローマに着いて以来、昨日までずっととても寒くて風も強かったのでぶらぶらお散歩という気分にはならず、外では必要な用事を済ませるだけでしたが、昨日からお天気が良くとても暖かくなっているので、今日はランチの後、ご近所をお散歩しました。お借りしているアパートメントは地下鉄でローマの中心地まで２０分くらいのところでローマ市内ではあるのですが住宅地で、たくさんのアパートメントが並んでいるところです。藤の花が綺麗に咲いていたり、梨の一種だそうですが白いお花が咲いている木がずらっと並んでいたり、レモンがたくさんなっている木があったり、カフェやレストランもちょこちょことあります。イースターで明日、明後日はお休みのところが多いようですが、今日は通常営業でした。
Since we arrived in Rome about 10 days ago it has been very cold and windy until yesterday, so we hadn’t done much walking outside other than doing chores like shopping, but the weather changed dramatically yesterday and it was very warm and sunny today, so we had a little walk around the neighbourhood after lunch. It’s about 20 minutes on the subway to the centre of Rome so it is still Rome here but it’s a residential area with lots of apartments. We saw some pretty wisterias in bloom, rows of trees with white flowers (apparently some sort of pears), some cafes and restaurants. The cafes and restaurants will be closed tomorrow and the day after tomorrow for Easter but they were open today.
