今日は、夫の弟夫婦とチチェスター・フェスティバル・シアターで上演されている「レッドランズ」というお芝居を見て来ました。レッズランズは昔キース・リチャーズが所有していた家があった場所（わたしたちが住むウェスト・サセックス州にあります）の名前で、お芝居は１９６７年にローリングス・ストーンズのミック・ジャガーとキース・リチャーズがその家で逮捕され麻薬所持で有罪判決を受けた事件を元に書かれたもので、裁判はお芝居が上演されているチチェスターの裁判所だったという繋がりもあります。どういうお芝居かも知らずに行ったのですが、思いの外とても楽しいお芝居でした。

We went to see a play, “Redlands” at Chichester Festival Theatre with my husband’s younger brother and his wife this evening.  Redlands is the name of Keith Richard’s house (in West Sussex, where we live). Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were sentenced for having drugs there in 1967 and the play is written based on that and the following trial, which took place in Chichester.  I had no idea what sort of a play it was going to be but it was very lively, fun and interesting and all of us enjoyed it thoroughly.
