今日はやっと晴れ間が見えて比較的明るい１日です。
The sun is out, at least now and again so it’s much brighter today.
昨日は、しばらく前に刺繍の集まりでのトークに来てくださった Beth Power さんのスティッチスケープのワークショップに参加しました。途中ランチタイム（各自でサンドイッチなど持って行きました）を挟んで朝１０時から夕方４時まで。布で風景をデザインしてそこに刺繍をするもので、わたしはトークにいらしたときに購入したキットを使いました。キットは当日も購入できましたし、自分が持っている布を使って参加するのもオーケー。布や他の材料もたくさん用意してくださっていました。
I joined a workshop of Stitchscape run by Beth Powder organised by the embroidery group I’m member of. It was from 10:00 to 16:00 with a lunch break (bring your own). I used the kit that I bought at the talk she gave us at the embroidery group some time ago, but you could buy a kit there or make your own using your own materials or the materials she provided at the workshop. There was a lot of materials you could choose from.

わたしは、これのニワトリのが一番惹かれてキットがあれば購入したかったのですが、このニワトリ部分の布は少ししかなかったのでキットはないそうで残念。
This one with chickens was my favourite and I would have loved to purchase a kit but she didn’t have any because there was very small size of the fabric with chickens and she doesn’t have that fabric any more.
全員のものではないのですが、昨日ワークショップに参加した方達の途中経過。わたしのは右側の列の奥から２番目。ランチ休憩を３０分として５時間半もしていましたが、ほとんど進んでいません（笑）。そして、長い時間同じ姿勢で何かしていることは最近ほとんどないので（カード作りは結構動きます）、今日は背中が痛いです（笑）。刺繍のような手仕事はしばらくしないと上手くいかないのでなかなか進みませんでしたが、これまでしたことがないタイプの刺繍で楽しかったです。見た目よりずっと時間がかかる作業ですが、比較的リラックスして楽しめるタイプの作業のように思います。
These are ‘work in progress’ of the people who joined the workshop (not all are in the photo). Mine is the second one from the back on the right side. We worked from 10:00 till 16:00 with a short lunch break so at least 5 and a half hours, but not much is done! It’s much more time consuming that it looks, you hardly make any progress in an hour. As we were in the same position for that long, I have a bit of a pain on my back. You aren’t sitting still when you make a card because you have to keep getting different materials or do different things, but when you work on an embroidery you hardly move. Still, I enjoyed it. I feel it’s quite a relaxing type of embroidery and something different.
