木曜日は、滞在していたアップルドアでは朝雨が降っていました。雨の中、義弟夫婦はアップルドアから車で３０分ほどの距離にある RHS の Garden Rosemoor に出かけましたが、わたしたちは傘は持っていましたが本格的な雨具は持って行っていなかったので出かけないことにしたのですが、２人が出て行って１０分か１５分して外を見ると雨が止んでいたので、わたしたちも出かけることにしました。（他の若い３人と赤ちゃんはどこかにハイキングに行っていました。）丁度お昼頃についたのでカフェでランチもしたのですが、写真は撮り忘れていたようでありません、サンドイッチを食べました。

On Thursday, it was raining in Appledore in the morning.  My husband’s brother and his wife went out to go to RHS Garden Rosemoor, which was about 30 minutes away, but when they went out it was still raining.  Although we had umbrellas we didn’t have proper rain gear like rain trousers so we didn’t want to get soaked walking in the rain so we didn’t go out with them.  About 10 or 15 minutes after they went out I looked out and noticed the rain had stopped, so we decided to go out, too.  We arrived in Garden Rosemoor around lunch time so we did have lunch in a cafe after walking a little but it looks like I’d forgotten to take photos, so no photo of the lunch.  We just had sandwiches.  (The 3 young people with a baby were also out somewhere hiking.)

ガーデンはとても広く、それはそれはたくさんのお花が綺麗に咲いていてとても見応えがありました。そして、この日もとても蒸し暑かったです。

The garden was very large, covered with beautiful flowers, it was one of the best gardens we’d been to.  It was quite humid, too, so a bit uncomfortable to walk around at times.
