今日は、スコットランドに大きな嵐が来ているそうで、こちらも風が強く、お昼過ぎから雨も降り始めています、先日からフロントガーデンの大きなダリアがたくさん咲いていてとても綺麗で写真を撮ろうと思っていた矢先、その風で何本も折れてしまいました（涙）。支柱を立ててサポートはしているのですが、高さが足りず、雨で重くなったお花の重みもあって大きな枝が折れ曲がってしまっていたので、切って花瓶に入れました。

Apparently a storm is hitting Scotland today and even we are having some effect, it’s very windy and also started to rain around lunch time.  The large dahlias (dinnerplate dahlias)  were looking great in the front garden and I was just thinking I must take some photos this morning, then when we came back from lunch a few of the thick stems were totally bent.  The flowers become very heavy with the rain then the wind hit them.  We do have supports around them but they were not tall enough.  So I cut the broken stems off and put them in a vase.
