今日は久しぶりに晴天、気温も１５度まで上がり暖かく小春日和な１日でした。いつも秋から春先までは雨が多いイギリスですがこの秋と冬は特別雨が多いのでみんなうんざりしていて、今日のような日はイギリスに住む方のインスタではお天気が話題にならないことはありません。明日はまた雨のようですが、土曜日はそこそこ良いお天気になりそうです。

It was a beautiful day today and quite warm, it went up to 15C.  It always rains a lot from autumn to early spring here but this autumn and winter were especially rainy and everyone is fed up, so all the instagram posts from England talk about the beautiful weather on such a day as today.  It looks like it’ll rain tomorrow but Saturday looks better.

今日はお友達ご夫婦と久しぶりにキャッチアップをすることになったのですが、しばらく外食が続いているので何か軽いものを家で用意します、ということでお家に呼んでいただきました。写真は控えましたが、キッシュやハムやサラダ、ワカモーレ、茹でた新じゃがというランチを美味しくいただき、数ヶ月分のキャッチアップをして楽しいひとときでした。お友達はご旅行が多く、わたしたちの３月末からの旅行もあるので次のお目にかかれるのは６月になりそうです。

We were invited to our friends’ for lunch today.  We were talking about getting together to catch up with this couple and she said they’d been eating out a lot recently so she would make a light lunch for us.  I didn’t take any photos but it was a quiche, ham, salad, guacamole and some new potatoes.  We enjoyed the lovely lunch while we did the catch up.  They are often away and we will be away from the end of March for a month so it looks like it’ll be June when we can see them next.

ランチの後、夫がチチェスターに用があったのでチチェスターに寄り、夫の用が済むまで１時間ちょっとわたしはお店を見て過ごしましたが、日陰で風が吹くと流石に少し寒く感じましたが日向を歩いている限り暖かくてコートも必要なく、薄いカシミヤのセーターで十分なお天気でした。丁度マーケットの日で美味しそうなチーズ屋さんもあったので夫と一緒だったら相談しながら少しチーズを買いたいところでしたが、ひとりだったので買わず。

After lunch, my husband had a chore to do in Chichester so I spent about an hour looking in shops waiting for him.  I didn’t have a coat on, I only had a very lightweight cashmere jumper but it was warm enough except when there was a little breeze and when I walked in the shade.  It happened to be a market day today so we would have bought some cheese as the cheese shop looked good but I decided not to, it’s more fun to do that sort of thing with my husband.

夕食は、Hello Fresh の「Hearty Aubergine and Lentil Veggie Moussaka with Tenderstem Broccoli and Garlic Ciabatta」（ボリュームタップリの茄子とレンティルのベジタリアンムサカ、テンダーステムブロッコリーとガーリック・チャバタ）でした。今日も昨日同様レシピはついて来なかったので夫がウェブサイトから印刷してくれましたが、これが少し違うバージョンで、ブロッコリーはないバージョンだったのでややこしい。

The dinner today was “Hearty Aubergine and Lentil Veggie Moussaka with Tenderstem Broccoli and Garlic Ciabatta” from Hello Fresh.  Like yesterday we didn’t have the recipe card so my husband printed it out from the website but it was a slightly different version of the dish, it didn’t have broccoli so it was confusing!

ボリュームたっぷり、というのはどうかなー、という気がしました。確かにレンティル入りのトマトソースはとても量が多かったですが、トマトソースという感じで、他には茄子が１本（こちらの茄子は日本のものの倍くらいありますが）なのでそれほどボリュームたっぷり、とでもないような。にんにくを炒めたところにレンティルとウスターソース、ハーブミックス、シナモン、赤ワイン入りストックペースト、パック入りトマトを加えてお砂糖、お水を加えて煮詰めたものがレンティル入りトマトソース。その上にオーブンで焼いた茄子のスライスをのせて、その上にクレームフレッシュをのせて、その上にパルメジャーノチーズ風のチーズをのせてグリルで焼いたものです。もしまたオーダーしたら、ベースに玉ねぎ、セロリ、人参のみじん切りを加えてもっと歯ごたえのあるソースにした方が美味しいと思います。

Although ti says “Hearty”, I don’t think I can agree.  Although there was a lot of tomato sauce with lentils it was just sauce, not enough texture.  Other than that there was only one aubergine sliced.  You make a tomato sauce with lentils with garlic, Worcester Sauce, mixed herbs, cinammon, red wine stock paste, a pack of chopped tomatoes (not fresh), sugar & water.  Then you put on slices of aubergine that have been cooked in the oven, a layer of Creme Fraiche, then Italian style cheese and grill until it’s golden and bubbly.  So it was quite ‘saucy’.  If we have it again I would add chopped onion, celery an carrot to the base sauce so there is more texture.
