今日はお昼頃まで良いお天気でしたが、その後曇って来て一時雨がぱらつき、また良いお天気になるというイギリスらしいお天気でした。

It was nice and sunny until lunch time, but then it got very dark and rained for a short time, then got sunny again – very English.

今日の夕食は、以前夫が作ってくれたミートボールを使って作ったパスタベイクを冷凍していたので、それをオーブンで温め直たものとサラダでした。マカロニをトマト、パプリカ、ズッキーニのソースで和えてミートボールを加え、上からホワイトソースをかけて焼いたものです。美味しくいただきました。そして、デザートにバニラアイスクリームに小さなチェリーをキルシュに漬けたものも。普段はデザートはフレッシュのフルーツが基本ですが、たまにアイスクリームを食べたり、ちょっとした市販のデザートを食べることもあります。（レッスン以外ではほとんどデザートは作りません、甘いものはたまにいただくことにしています。）

Today’s dinner was Pasta Bake & Salad.  My husband made some meatballs sometime ago so I used them with pasta and made a pasta bake by mixing the pasta and meatballs with a sauce made with tomato, red pepper & courgette, then pouring white sauce over and baking in the oven for a while.  A half was eaten on the day and the other half has been in the freezer since then. So we just had to warm it up in the oven.  It was very enjoyable.  We also had vanilla ice cream with small cherries in kirsch.  Although we have just fresh fruits after dinner most of the time we do have something small and sweet like ice cream or some store-bought dessert.  (I very seldom make dessert other than at the baking classes, we try not to have things other than fresh fruits very often.)
