今日は２週間に１度の刺繍の集まりがある日でした。いつもはお隣のお友達が車で一緒に連れて行ってくださって連れて帰ってくださるのですが、今足を痛めておられるので、夫に送り迎えをしてもらい、集まりの前に３人でランチをしました。アランデルなので、いつもの「Cockburn’s Tea Rooms」に行きました。いつ行っても結構混んでいるのですが、今日は何故だかとても空いていました、お天気がすごく良いのでみなさんお散歩などを楽しまれているのかも。 There was an embroidery group gathering that runs twice a month. 今日は２週間に１度のアランデルでの刺繍の会の集まりがあり、お隣のお友達と一緒に出掛けてアランデルのティールーム「The Cockburn’s Tea Rooms」でランチをしてから刺繍の会に参加しました。ランチは、ベーコン＆ブリーのホットサンド、美味しかったです。 There was an embroidery gathering in Arundel, which is held every two weeks, so I joined them with my next door neighbour after we had lunch in “The Cockburn’s Tea Rooms” in Arundel. I had “Bacon & Brie” toasties. 今日はやっと晴れ間が見えて比較的明るい１日です。 The sun is out, at least now and again so it’s much brighter today. 昨日は、しばらく前に刺繍の集まりでのトークに来てくださった Beth Power さんのスティッチスケープのワークショップに参加しました。途中ランチタイム（各自でサンドイッチなど持って行きました）を挟んで朝１０時から夕方４時まで。布で風景をデザインしてそこに刺繍をするもので、わたしはトークにいらしたときに購入したキットを使いました。キットは当日も購入できましたし、自分が持っている布を使って参加するのもオーケー。布や他の材料もたくさん用意してくださっていました。 I joined a workshop of Stitchscape run by Beth Powder organised by the embroidery group I’m member of. Parham House & Gardens
先日、金曜日は刺繍のグループの方達と「Parham House & Gardens」で Needlework Tour と言って、ハウスの中に展示されている刺繍について説明を受けるツアーに参加しました。店員は１５名で、わたしたちの刺繍のグループからは６人ほどの参加でした。１名、申し込んでいて来られなかった方がおられたようで建物の外で５分ほど待ったのですが（わたしたちは５分ほど前に着いたので１０分外に立っていたことになります）、結局いらっしゃらず。ご連絡もなかったようでした。金曜日は雨模様でしたが、気温は１７度だったので、それほど寒くないだろう、中に入って着ているものを持って歩くのも嫌だしと思って上着を着ないで行ったところ、建物の中は良かったのですが外で立っている時に風もあって寒くて。やはり、何か羽織るものを持って行くべきでした。 Last Friday, some of us in the Embroidery Group joined “Needlework Tour” of “Parham House & Gardens“, which is about 15 minutes or so from us by car. Christmas Afternoon Tea & Savoury Scones
今日は２週間に１度集まっている刺繍の集まりの会のクリスマス前のアフタヌーンティーの日でした。去年はアランデルのティールームで行われましたが、今年は普段集まっている場所の１つ、アランデルのミュージアムで行われ、持ち寄りのティーパーティーになりました。いろいろ考えましたが、その時に見たリストあったのは甘いものばかりだったので、甘くない系のスコーンにしました。お菓子教室で数ヶ月前に習った、ベーコン、ドライトマト、コンテチーズが入ったスコーン。全粒粉も入っているので普通のスコーンとはかなり違う、やや固めの食感です。習った時は少し水分が足りなくてぼろぼろしましたが、今日はほんの少し水分を増やしたので上手く作ることが出来ました。皆さんが持ってこられたものを並べたテーブルの写真を撮り忘れてしまったのですが、手作りのものよりもスーパーで買ったものが多かったです。 There was a Christmas Afternoon Tea gathering of the embroidery group I belong to today.
