今日は１日とても良いお天気で、気温はまだ１５度でしたが日差しが強くて風がない時は暑いくらいに感じました。そろそろポットのお花を夏仕様に変えたいので、夏のお花が出ているかガーデンセンターに見に行って来ました。前回行ったときはまだパンジーやプリムラなど春のお花ばかりでしたが、今日は、春のお花と夏のお花が混在していましたが、夏のお花もたくさん出ていました。ただ、種類が少なくて思っているものはなかったですが、ネットでもそれほど種類がないのであるもので手を打つしかありません。来週（５月８日から）ちょこっと旅行に出るので、戻ってきてからにしようと思います。 It was a beautiful day today. ちょっと久しぶりの、ガーデン・アップデート。 Garden update, I haven’t done this for a little while. フロントガーデンは水仙だらけですが、これは１週間ほど前の写真で、今は少し枯れてきています。バーベナやデルフィニュームの背がずいぶん高くなってきて、キャットミント、ジェラニュームもだいぶん葉っぱがふさふさして来ました。 A lot of narcisus in the front garden, these photos were taken about a week ago and some are fading now. Sweet Peas
イギリスではほとんどの方が宿根草と多年草だけを植えていて、１年草を植える方は少ないように思います、植えてもほんの少し。YouTubeを見ていると日本では多くの方が１年草も植えておられるみたいです。我が家もガーデンデザイナーさんが植える植物を決められたので、植えられているのは全て宿根草と多年草。１年草や２年草も３割くらい植えてほしいとお願いしたのですが、空いているところに適当にご自分で植えてください、という対応でした。宿根草や多年草だけだと変化に欠けると思うので、残念。空いているところは植物が育たなかったところの場合が多く、日当たりが悪かったり水捌けが悪かったりするので難しいところです。 From what I see on youtube, it looks like people plant quite a lot of annuals in their gardens but here in England I feel the majority of people plant just perennials. Anemone
一昨年たくさん植えたはずのアネモネ、去年思っていたほど芽が出ませんでした。パープルのを植えたのですがなぜか１つだけピンクが混じっていたので、去年はピンクを１０個植えました。でも、やはり全部は芽が出ず、半分くらいかな？もう少し増やしたいので、また今年植えようと思います。スノードロップもたくさん植えたのにあまり芽を出さなかったですし、今日ふと気づいたのですが、そう言えばフロントガーデンに植えたクロッカス、２種類植えたはずなのに１種類は全然出ませんでした。がっかり。 We had many anemone bulbs the year before last year, but not many came out last year. 今日もとっても良いお天気ですが、連休なので外出はせず。ぐるっとお庭を歩くと毎日新しい発見があります、これから夏の終わりにかけてはお庭歩きが楽しい季節。でも、気温はまだ低め。お天気も数日前にお天気マークがたくさんあると書きましたがその後やはり変わってしまい、結構雨マークも見られます。 It was a lovely sunny day today, and it still looks very bright outside in early evening. Garden Update
今日は、ランチから戻ってしばらくしてから今年初めて草刈りをしました。少し暖かくなってきて日も長くなってきて、雑草が気になっていましたが、時間があるときは雨が降っていたり雨が止んだばかりで泥濘んでいたりでなかなか出来ず。前回、ガーデナーさんが来てくださったときに「そろぞろ雑草が気になって来ているので次回は草抜きをしますね。」とおっしゃってくださっていたのであてにしていたのですが、２週間おきに来てくださるはずがそれからもう1月は経っています。夫がご連絡してみたらお仕事が雨のせいで遅れていてまだ時間が取れないとのこと、良くあることですが、とっても困ります。なので、やっと今日１時間半ほどしたので、明日は多分足腰が痛くなると思います。今の時期はまだ良いですが、夏の間はガーデナーさんにちゃんと来て草刈りをしてほしいな〜、去年は結構大変でした。 After I got back from lunch today, I did some weeding, it was the first time this year. 日本は、もう桜が満開のようですが、今週末はお天気が良くないみたいで残念ですね。 It looks like cherry blossoms are already in full bloom in Japan, but the weather doesn’t look good this weekend. What a shame!
