今日は寒いけれど良いお天気になりました。午前中に美容院に行って、午後から少し何ヶ月ぶりかに草抜きをしました。まだ数は少ないですが長くしていなかったので結構育っているものが目立って来たので、雨が降らないうちにと１時間弱。長くすると久しぶりなのでまた足腰が痛くなるので、今日は少しだけ。 It’s cold today but is nice and sunny. Crocuses
クロッカスの蕾がつき始めました！まだ、３つか４つくらいですが、芽はたくさん出ています。雨が多くて暗くて長いイギリスの冬なので、こうしてお花が咲き始めると春が近いことが感じられて嬉しいものです。 I found some buds of crocuses in our front garden. Only 3 or 4 so far but there are a lot of shoots everywhere. 今日は曇ってはいましたがほんの少し陽が射し、お庭に水たまりもないようだったので、凄く凄く久しぶりにお庭仕事をしました。ずっと雑草が気になってはいたのですが、雨が多くてなかなか出来ずにいました。土曜日にガーデナーさんがマルチングをしてくれる予定なのでその前に雑草を抜いておきたかったのです。あまりに久しぶりなので長時間するとまた腰が痛くなると困るのでざっとですが、雑草と枯葉もある程度処分出来てほっとしました。多分、明日足は痛くなると思いますが、腰が痛くならないように祈るのみ。 Although it was mostly quite grey, the sun came out occasionally today and I didn’t see any puddles in the flower beds in the garden, so I did some gardening, it’s been quite a while since I did it last. 昨日は夕方５時頃にお茶をしながらテレビを見ていたらふたり共寝てしまい、夜目が覚めてそのまままたベッドに。途中何度か目は覚めていますが、起きてシャワーを浴びたのは７時半。まだまだ、真っ暗でした。今、イギリスの日の出は７時２０分頃。 Yesterday, we were watching TV after tea and crumpets and we both fell asleep. 今日はやっと少し気温が上がって、２３度くらいまでありました。来週はヒートウェーブがやって来る噂なのですが、わたしがチェックしている BBC のお天気予報ではヒートウェーブと言えるほどの気温は今の所見当たりません。でも、良いお天気になる日は多くなりそうです。わたし的には、ヒートウェーブが来なくてお天気が良い方が有難い。お天気が良ければ２３度くらいにはなります。明日もお天気良さそうで、嬉しい。 It was good weather today and the temperature went up to 23C. Garden Update
フロントガーデンが、今、とっても綺麗です。写真より見た目の方が華やかに感じます。バーベナはすごく背が高くなって、１８５センチの夫より高いです。キャットミントもゼラニュームも大きく育ちました。バックガーデンと違って南側なので、よく咲いてくれます。フロントガーデンのリノベーションをする際に、「コテージガーデン風にしたい」というのが希望でしたが、そんな感じになりました。本当はバックガーデンをこんな感じにしたかったのですが、北向きだと育たない植物がほとんどで無理なのです。 Our front garden is looking beautiful at the moment, it looks more beautiful in real life than the photos can show.
