ランチの後に向かったのは、「Pantler」というケーキが美味しいという評判のカフェ。シンガポールのロブションで働いていたパティシエと東京グランドハイアットで働いていたパティシエのお店だそう。以前、お友達がこちらのフルーツケーキを持ってきてくださったことがありました。

After lunch, we went to “Pantler”.  Apparently the founders used to work at Singapore Joel Robuchon and Tokyo Grand Hyatt as patissier.  I have heard a lot of good things about their pastries/cakes.

綺麗なケーキがたくさん並べられていて、日本のケーキ屋さんみたい。なのに、またまた写真を撮り忘れました（涙）。オーダーしたケーキと飲み物の写真は撮りましたが、iPhoneなのでね〜。iPhoneでも素敵な写真を撮られる方もたくさんおられるのですが、わたしはダメですね〜。インスタグラムのフィルターをかければ少しはマシになるのかもしれませんが。。。

The cases looked beautiful with display of pretty looking pastries and cakes, but I forgot to take photos again.  I did take a photo of the cake and drink that each of us ordered but I don’t think I should have taken them from above, the cakes looked very pretty from the sides but these photos don’t show much.  However, with iPhone, it’s hard to take a photo from the side of cakes because then the background will be in the frame.  Anyway, they aren’t the best photos to show how pretty these cakes are.

そして、ケーキは横から撮った方が良かった。上からではせっかく綺麗な飾りも今一つ見えません、あ〜、残念。でも、横から撮るとiPhoneだと後ろの方がたくさん写ってしまうので、それはそれであまり綺麗に見えないのですよね。家でスタイリングして撮るのと違って、お店でさくっと撮るのはなおさら難しいです。

と、あまりに写真がひどかったので、いろいろ言い訳してしまいました。

お友達のイチゴのショートケーキとモンブラン。

One friend had Strawberry Cake, the other friend had Mont Blanc.

 

わたしはイチゴのパリブレストにしてみましたが、シンガポールの気候だとパリブレストは湿気てしまっているのが残念(それとも、パリブレストとはそういうもの？。イチゴは甘くて美味しかったです。

I chose Strawberry Paris-Brest.  Sadly the pastry was very soggy (I suppose it cannot be helped in this weather).  The strawberries were nice and sweet.

 

 

久しぶりだったのでキャッチアップすることがたくさんあり、たくさんおしゃべり出来て楽しいひとときでした！

It was lovely to be able to catch up with them!
