台湾３日目（最終日）。関空へのフライトは午後４時前、空港に向かう前に行きたいところが２個所ありましたし、お昼を食べてすぐに空港に向かえるようこの日もハイヤーを予約していました。前日と同じ方に１０時にピックアップしていただきました。チェックアウトは１１時ごろだったかと思いますが、朝買い物をしてスーツケースに詰められるように１２時に延ばしていただきました。

The last day in Taiwan.  Our flight back to Japan was a little before 4.00pm.  We wanted to go to a couple of places, have lunch then head for the airport so I booked a taxi for a few hours this day as well – from 10.00am until we got to the airport.  I also asked the hotel to delay our check out time to 12.00 so we could do shopping in the morning and pack what we bought.

朝、妹と朝市に行ったあと、ホテルの近くのスーパーで少し買い物をして一度ホテルに戻り、荷造りをしてあとは最後の買い物を入れるだけの状態で１０時に出発。

After walking in the morning market, my sister and I did a little shopping in a supermarket near the hotel before getting back to the hotel, then we got picked up at 10.00 by the driver.

最初に行ったのは、油化街。主な目的はからすみを買うことでしたが、台湾ご出身のお友達もオススメとおっしゃっていましたしガイドブックにも楽しいと書かれていたので、からすみを買った後、辺りをぶらぶらしておみやげ屋さんでちょっとしたおみやげを買ったりしました。

First we asked our driver to take us to Dihua Street – mainly to buy some Bottarga (dried mullet roe).  It’s an area where they have wholesale shops for Chinese medicine, dried goods and fabric.  We saw lots of dried vegetables and fruits that you don’t think of eating dry, and lots of nuts.  I would have bought more but we took only 1 large suit case between 3 of us (because it was only a 2 night trip) so there wasn’t much room left.  My brother and sister bought Bottarga and I would also have liked to get them for some of my friends but I still had 10 days or so left in Japan and it wouldn’t have kept.  The area was quite fun to walk around, looking at the shops and some nice European looking buildings.

油化街は漢方、乾物、布問屋街として賑わっているところだそうです。こんなものも乾物にするの？と思うようなお野菜や果物の乾物も売られていましたし、ナッツなどもたくさんあり、荷物に余裕があればもっと購入したのですが、もうスーツケース（２泊だったので３人で大きなスーツケースを１つだけ持って行っていました）がパンパンになっていたので、ほんの少しだけ買いました。からすみも問屋街なのでややお安いようでした。お友達にも買って来たいと思ったのですが、まだ日本に１０日ほど滞在期間があり、からすみはあまり日持ちしないもののようでしたのであきらめました。ヨーロッパ風の建物もあって、たしかにぶらぶら歩きに楽しいところでした。
