先日書いたように、ミシンスティッチでアクセントをつけたカードを作りました。カードを作るのは久しぶり。

As I wrote the other day, I made cards using sewing machine stitches as accents.

クリアスタンプをくっつけるプラスチックの台にインクをのせて水でスプレーして水彩紙の上に載せて水彩風に色をつけたところにスタンプを押してミシンでスティッチする、というカードで、一気に１２枚作りました。参考にしたのは、Jannifer McGuire さんのこのビデオ。ミシンでまっすぐ縫うのが難しいので、ガタガタさせてプレイフルな雰囲気に。いつものことですが、Jenniferさんは簡単そうにされて素敵に出来ていますが、上手く色が混ざらなかったりお水の量加減が難しかったり、でした。いくつか気に入っているのもありますが、う〜ん、というのも。。。

You colour a block you use for clear stamps with distress ink, spray some water and put it on a piece of watercolour paper, then stamp on it and add stitches with a sewing machine here and there.  I followed this video of Jennifer McGuire to make them.  You need to wait a little for the ink to dry but the process is quite quick so I made 12 cards in one go.   I cannot sew in a completely straight line so I went for a messy look.  As usual, it wasn’t as easy as Jennifer makes it look but I guess they are OK.  I like some of them more than others.
