今日の夕食は、夫が大好きなチリコンカーニ。しょっちゅう作っているようなイメージですが、夫からしばらく作っていないとクレームがありました（笑）。調べてみると、前回は１ヶ月半ほど前でした。お鍋も長くしていないとクレームされていますが、暑くてなかなか作る気になれません。

Today’s dinner was Chilli Con Carne – my husband’s favourite.  I feel I’m cooking it all the time but my husband told me I hadn’t for a while – I checked on my blog and it looks like it was about a month and a half ago when we had it last time.  He was also telling me we hadn’t had Nabe (Japanese hot pot) for a long time and it’s true but it’s just so hot here all the time I somehow don’t crave for it.  I’ll keep it in my mind, though.

ちなみに、お花を入れている花瓶は随分前にお花のイベントでオーダーして「着きました」とご連絡いただいていたのですが、忘れたり面倒だったりで取りに行くのが延びて少し前にやっと取ってきました。ドイツに拠点を持つGuaxs Company（ガクス・カンパニー）の花瓶で、インドの伝統的なカッティンググラスの工房で１００％手作業によって製造されるそう。とても素敵で、値が張りますが思い切って買って良かったです。まだ使っていませんが、違うカッティングの小さめの花瓶も買いました。安い透明ガラスの花瓶ばかりをあれこれたくさん持っていて、それはそれで使いやすいのですが、やはり良いものは良いなと思わせられます。（このテーブルクロスにはあまり合わないのですけど。。。シックなクロスとの方が合います。）

The vase you see in the 1st photo is from Gauxs Comany (Germany company).  It’s totally handmade and quite expensive but is very nice and seems to make even ordinary orchids look nicer.  I have many different sizes and shapes of inexpensive clear glass vases and they are very versatile, easy to use and useful but I must admit when the vase has great character and quality it is beautiful and makes the flowers look more beautiful.  (It doesn’t look very good with this table cloth, though.  It looks nicer with a chic table cloth.)
