As it’s a weekday, we are going to have dinner out to celebrate my birthday tomorrow rather than today.  A few friends kindly sent me happy birthday messages from Japan and they said how it’s getting a little chilly there now.  I think sometimes Japan can still be very warm at this time but autumn seems to be arriving early this year.  I love autumn and early winter.  It’s still hot here in Singapore naturally, although we’ve been having a lot of rain and it’s cooler than it can be.


I didn’t feel like working hard on dinner for my own birthday so I prepared Raclette.









You melt Raclette cheese, top it with chopped onion (I used shallots as I had some) and paprika, pepper and/or nutmeg and have it with potato, Parma Ham, chorizo with lots of salad.   We also cook sausages on top of the Raclette cooker.
