今回の九州旅行についての記事はこれが最後です。

This is the last report of our Kyushu trip.

福岡に戻った日の夕食は屋台に行ってみようと言っていました。９年前の屋台には行かなかったですし、福岡らしくて楽しそうかな、と思ったのですが、何しろ寒かったので屋台に座って食べる気にならず、ホテルのコンシエージュにご相談して「リストランテ・フォンタナ」というイタリアンを予約していただきました。最初に候補に上がったところは満席だったのに、こちらはわたしたちともう１組だけ（笑）。年末の気忙しい時期で忘年会に適したお店ではなかったからでしょうか。

On the day we got back to Fukuoka from Yufuin, we were planning to have dinner at one of the yatai (food stalls) along the river as they are very popular and special in Fukuoka, but we decided not to because it was cold and we didn’t feel like sitting outside for a long time.  So, we asked the Concierge in the hotel again if tshe can recommend any casual Italian restaurant.  The 1st place she tried was fully booked but 2nd place “Ristorante Fontana” took the reservation and when we were there we found out we were the only customers except one more couple.  It wasn’t as casual as we expected so maybe it’s not very suitable for large group  of people to enjoy a year-end party that many do in Japan.

 

わたしがお魚とシーフードがだめだとお伝えしたところ、とてもご親切に対応していただきました。前菜にはアンティパストの盛り合わせをお願いしたのですが、用意されているのがお魚やシーフードがほとんどなので少し時間がかかります、ということで、アミューズをいただきました。手前はニョッキを揚げて生ハムを乗せたもの、もう１つはフォアグラのパテとバターのサンド。どちらも美味しかったです。

We ordered a plate of antipasto to share but without fish or seafood and they were very kind to prepare a special one without fish or seafood.   What they had prepared was mostly fish and seafood so they told me that it’ll take a little longer than usual but we didn’t mind it at all and I don’t think it took so long.  They gave us amuse to keep us happy.  The right one is deep-fried gnocchi with Parma ham and the other one is something like biscuit sandwich of foie gras pate and butter.  Both delicious.

 

フォカッチャもふんわりもっちりで美味しかったですし、添えられたオリーブオイルも美味しかったです。

Fresh foccacia was also delicious, it had the texture I love – soft but slightly chewy.  The olive oil was also very good.

 

そして出ていた前菜の盛り合わせは、びっくりするほど豪華でボリューもたっぷり。手前にあるのはお野菜とベーコン（だったでしょうか）のフラン。奥にあるのが田舎風パテ、フランの横がハム類とサラダ。

Here is half a plate of antipasto (they divided in 2 plates kindly), so much on the plate!  The one in a ramekin was some sort of flan with vegetables and bacon(?) I think.  Behind it is country style pate, the left of the flan is 2 different kinds of ham with some leaf salad.

一番奥が、金柑を使った冷たいムース状のものでした。

And the one in a glass is cold mousse with Kumquat.  Very nice, too.

 

どれもとても美味しかったです。

Everything was delicious.  I couldn’t finish all because if I’d eaten all I wouldn’t been able to eat anything else.

 

メインは２人ともパスタにしましたが、夫は鹿肉のラグーを選んでいました。すごく美味しかったそうです。パスタはショートパスタで、ペンネっぽいパスタだったと思います。

For the main, my husband had some short pasta (I cannot remember the name, similar to penne) with venison ragu, he is still talking about how good it was.

パスタもやはりシーフードやジビエ系が中心だったので、わたしがいただけるのはこれしかなかった気がします。特別な卵を使ったカルボナーラ。美味しかったのですが、わたしにはちょっとヘビー過ぎました。クリームは使っていませんでしたが卵黄がたっぷりでどっしりでした。グアンチャーレがカリカリで美味しかったです。

I think almost all pasta was fish or game so this was the only thing I could eat – Carbonara with some special eggs.  It was good but for me the sauce was too heavy.  They didn’t use any cream but there was lots of egg yolks, which made it very heavy.  The guanciale was nice and crispy and tasty.

デザートは、スペインのプリンのようなデザートのカタラーナとピスタチオのアイスをシェアー。これもとても美味しかったです。

For dessert we shared Spanish Creme Caramel – Catalana – with pistachio ice cream, really good.

 

あとで調べて見たところ、人気のお店のようです。サービスも良かったですし、とても丁寧にお料理されているという印象でした。特に前菜とデザートが美味しかったです。

When I searched online after the dinner, I found out that they are very popular.  Their service was very good and it was very good cooking with lots of care.  I specially enjoyed the antipasto and dessert.

翌日のフライトは１０時前でしたが、ホテルに常にタクシーがとまっていますし空港までも近いので楽でした。

Our flight back to Japan the next morning was before 10.00am, but there were always taxies waiting outside the hotel and it was very close to the airport so it wasn’t bad.

 

予定より３０分ほど短いフライト時間でシンガポールに着いたのですが、降りてから雷雨になったらしく、「雷がなっているので安全のため荷物が出てくるまでしばらくかかります、ご了承ください。」という案内が出て、３０分ほど待ったところで「後３０分ほどかかります」というアナウンス。最終的にはそれからそれほどはかからず、多分全部で４０分ほど待ったのだと思います。機内で長くいるより良いですし、安全第一ですから仕方ないですね。

We arrived about 30 minutes earlier in Singapore than scheduled but our luggage was delayed because of the lightning.  There was this sign going round and round on the baggage carousel.  After waiting for about 30 minutes there was an announcement that they expect that they would start loading the luggage in another 30 minutes.  It wasn’t as long as they expected but it was a long wait.  Still, safety first.

 

 

ということで、短かったですが楽しい旅行でした。夫も露天風呂を楽しんで、日本を楽しんで、満足そう。

福岡、２度目ですが、大きすぎず小さすぎず、人も暖かくてとても居心地の良い街でした。

So, it was a short break but we had a great time.  My husband loved the Rotenburo (outdoor bath), he enjoyed being Japan very much and of course I did, too.  It was our 2nd time to be in Fukuoka but we really like the town.  It’s not too large but not too small, people are very warm, a very nice place.
