いつも Carpo でのお花のレッスンはスペシャルイベントがあるとき以外は月に１度伺っていますが、これまでほとんどずっと大きな花束（シャンペトルやオブリーク）を作ってきたのでずっと小さな花束のレッスンも受けてみたいと思っていて、今日受けてきました。シャンペトルが出来れば小さなのも出来ると思いますよ、と言われていましたがほぼ初めてだったのでちょっと心配でした。
I’ve been taking a flower class at Carpo once a month except when there is a special lesson, but this month I took the 2nd lesson today for “Bouquet de Jardin”. I’ve been making large bouquets like Champetre and Oblique and have been wanting to take some lessons on smaller ones. The teacher told me that if you can make a large bouquet you should be able to make a small one, even though they are a little different, but I was a little nervous.
大きな花束とスパイラルに組んで行く基本は同じですし量が少ないので重くて持てなくなってくるということはありませんが、お花の特徴を活かしながら良いポジションに入れながら形を整えていくというのはそれなりに難しく感じました。これはシャンペトルやオブリークの時も同じ、いつも「これで良いのかな？」と思いながら束ねています。
Although the technique to make the stems spiral is the same and it doens’t get so heavy to hold like larger bouquets, but it still wasn’t so simple, as you need to think how to show the characteristic of each flower and place each flower in the right area. Not that it’s different from larger bouquets, I never feel confident that I’m doing it right.
お花揃えがあまりよくないシンガポールで花市場まで足を伸ばしてもなかなか好みのお花がないのが現状で、結構遠いですし辺りは影がなくて暑いですし、なかなか自分で行けません。Carpo ではいつも素敵なお花合わせの花束を作れるので、その点でも嬉しいレッスンです。自分で選ぶと黒っぽい色（濃い色のカラーなど）か無難にピンク系とグリーン系などという色合わせになりがち。くすんだオレンジはたまに選びますが黄色は自分ではまず選ばない色ですが、こんなのも素敵、と思える花束が出来上がりました。鬼灯とチョコレートコスモスがアクセントになって素敵。
The varieties of flowers that we like in Singapore aren’t very good so I don’t enjoy going all the way to the flower market knowing I may not find anything I love. I like the fact that I always get beautiful flowers at Carpo. I tend to choose dark colours (like calla lilies in very dark wine colour) or go for an safe ones like green and pink. I do sometimes choose dusty orange but I would almost never choose yellow. I find it fun to make a bouquet with flowers I don’t usually use. The Chinese lantern plant Chocolate cosmos give lovely accents.
こじんまりとした花束なので、写真も撮りやすかったです。今日は、ベランダで撮ってみました。
It’s a relatively small bouquet so easier to take photos of. I took them on our balcony today.
