あっという間に香港３日目。この日は日曜日。香港滞在中は毎日飲茶をしましたが、この日行きたかったハッピーバレーの誉満坊は週末ランチは予約を受け付けないので夜に行くことにしました。空いたランチタイムは、ネット検索してたくさん挙がってきた「Fu Rong」という四川料理のお店に行ってみることに。まだオープンして１年ほどのようです。香港では１軒目だそうですが、中国本土にはたくさんあるチェーン店だそう。

It’s already on the 3rd day in Hong Kong.  It was a Sunday.  We wanted to have dim sum in “Dim Sum” in Happy Valley, but they don’t take reservations on weekends for lunch so we decided to go there for dinner.  (This is the only restaurant I know that serve dim sum for dinner as well.)  For lunch, we went to “Fu Rong”, which is a Sichuan restaurant, which opened about a year ago.  It’s the first one in Hong Kong but apparently they have many in Mainland China.

ハーバーシティーにあったので、大好きなフェリーであちら側（チムサーチョイ側）に。本当は夜渡ってきれいな夜景をぜひ見たいと思っていたのですが、夜ご飯を食べてから出かけるのがおっくうで（以前のようにセントラルのMTRの駅近くから出ていれば行ったのですが、今は結構歩くのです）先延ばしにして、結局行きませんでした。今の時期、昔住んでいた頃なら空気が比較的きれいな時期のはずですが、お友達からも聞いていましたがやはり大気汚染が酷いらしく随分霞んでいました。でも、やっぱりフェリーは良いです。２ドル７０セント（３８円）であちら側まで渡れてしまうのですから。

It was in Harbour City, so we took the Star Ferry to cross the harbour to the Tsim Sha Tsui side.  We really wanted to take a ferry at nighttime to be able to see the night view from the other side but we felt too tired to go out after dinner, so kept putting it off and in the end we didn’t manage it. We would have done if the ferry terminal on the Hong Kong side was still where it was until about 10 years or so ago but the new ferry terminal is so far from the centre of Central.  The air used to be relatively clean this time of year but I guess the pollution is very bad now, it was extremely hazy when we were there.  Still, we loved taking the ferry.  It’s only HK$2.70.

レストランにはテラスもあり、霞んではいましたがセントラル側の高層ビルが見えて壮観です。少し寒かったので中に座りましたが。

The restaurant has a terrace as well.  Although it was hazy the view was fantastic – though we sat inside as it was on a bit chilly to sit out.

もっと高級でかしこまったお店を想像していましたが、案外カジュアルでした。高級は高級でしたが。

I was imagining it to be more posh and expensive-looking but it was quite casual.  It was expensive, though.

前菜は、ズッキーニの細切りのサラダっぽいもの。ソースは甘めの甘酸っぱい辛いソースでした。もう少し甘さが少ない方が好みですが、これはこれで美味しくいただきました。

We chose Zucchini noodle salad for a starter.  The sauce was sweet, sour & a little spicy.  I would have liked it more if it weren’t quite so sweet, but it was still enjoyable.

麻婆豆腐。四川山椒が効いていて好みの味でした。こちらの四川豆花飯荘の麻婆豆腐と似ていると思いますが、辛いけれど四川豆花飯荘ほどではなく（わたしたちにはちょうど良い辛さ）、とても美味しかったです。ご飯といただきました。そして、ご飯も中華レストランにしては美味しいご飯でした。

Mapo Tofu.  We enjoyed this very much.  I thought it tasted similar to Mapo Tofu in Si Chuan Dou Hua in Singapore with the lovely flavour and kick from Sichuan peppers, but not as spicy as Si Chuan Dou Hua – just right spiciness for us.

おくらとユリ根ときくらげの炒め物。とてもさっぱりしたほんの少しの塩味で炒められていて、オクラはシャキシャキねっとり、ユリ根はシャキシャキほっくり、きくらげはこりこりと食感がとても美味しい１品でした。麻婆豆腐が濃いめで辛いのでさっぱりのもので箸休めが出来て良かったです。

Stir-fried okra, lily bulb & black fungus.  It was very lightly seasoned but very tasty with lovely texture of crispy & slimy okra, crispy and starchy lily bulb and crunchy black fungus.  As Mapo Tofu was spicy and strong flavoured, it was good to have this lightly seasoned dish to give our numbing tongues a rest.

分ける前に写真を撮るのを忘れましたが、担々麺。これは、ごく小さなお茶碗くらいの大きさのものに入っていたのでほんの少しずつでしたが、やはり美味しかったです。ごまペーストはほとんど入っていない（少し味はしましたが）甘みのない辛いタイプ。

I forgot to take a photo before dividing this into two bowls, but we also had Dan Dan Noodles.  It came in a very small bowl.  We enjoyed this very much, too.  I could taste a little of sesame paste but not much, it wasn’t very sweet, it was mainly spicy.

この日は、ホテルでアフタヌーンティーもする予定だったのでデザートはいただきませんでした。お茶とこれで５４８ドル（７６６０円）。

Since we were going to have an afternoon tea at our hotel this day, we didn’t have any dessert.

やはり旧正月前なので、こういう飾りがいたるところにあり、どこに行っても真っ赤でした。香港に住み始めた頃、旧正月の飾りでおしゃれっぽいものを探しましたが見つからなくて諦めたという記憶があります。旧正月の飾りは使い捨てなので、あまり素敵なものってないのですね。香港のクリスマスは素敵なのですが。

As Chinese New Year is just around the corner, these sort of decorations were everywhere and wherever we went it looked very red.  I remember when we first moved to Hong Kong I tried to find some tasteful Chinese New Year decoration but had to give up.  They don’t keep the decorations, they just throw them away every year so I guess they don’t spend much money on them.  I love their Christmas decorations but don’t care for their CNY decorations very much.

それでもシンガポールと違ってちゃんと本物の桃の枝でお花も本物ですし（ここは偽物が多い）、柑橘類もしっかり実がついていますし（ここはほとんど実は落ちてしまう）、菊の花もちゃんと咲いています。

Still, at least they use real peach branches with real flowers, the yellow fruit trees (there are a few different kinds) look full and the chrysanthemum look good.

セントラルは高級店が立ち並ぶところですが、日曜日は（ビジネス街なので）歩行者天国になっていて、こんな風にフィリピンのヘルパーさんたちが座り込んで楽しく過ごしています。みんな、陽気。こんな様子も懐かしい。

Central is the area where many expensive shops are in high rise buildings but on Sundays they close some roads to cars, where (mainly) the Filipino domestic helpers sit on the ground and have a great time with their friends.  They all seem happy.  Even such a scene makes me feel nostalgic.

この日は、ランチの後は特にどこにも行かずホテルに戻って、アフタヌーンティーまでゆっくりしました。

I don’t think we did anything much after lunch, just went back to the hotel until it was time for the afternoon tea.
