２度目に買ったヒヤシンスやチューリップの花束のお花がダメになっていたので、チチェスター に買い物に出たついでにマークス&スペンサーズでお花を買いました。白い紫陽花３つとピンクのトルコキキョウがスパイラルにまとめられて、防水のシートで包んだ中にたっぷりのお水を入れて紙袋に入れた状態で売られていました、多分プレゼント用なのだと思います。２０ポンド（３０００円）でした。

We went to Chichester to do some shopping today.  The bouquet of hyacinth & tulips we had on the table at home was looking almost gone, so we bought some new flowers in Marks &  Spencers.  Three white hydrangeas and some pink eustoma for 20 pounds.  The bouquet was made in a spiral fashion in plenty of water in a little vase-like pocket made with plastic sheet, wrapped then put in a paper bag, I guess it’s meant to be a present.

トルコキキョウはあまり好みではないので、外して別にまとめました。キッチンのアイランドに置いています。I’m not a big fan of eustoma so I took them out and put them in a small glass on their own and put just the hydrangeas in a larger vase, which is now sitting on the kitchen island.

紫陽花、春の花ではないですよね？最近はほとんど１年中見かけるような気がしますが、イギリスでは、今日初めて見かけました。

Hydrangea isn’t spring flower, I don’t think, but I have a feeling we see them almost all year around these days, I saw these for the first time in England since we came.

今たくさんあるのは、黄色い水仙とやはりチューリップ。チューリップは黄色とピンクが多い気がします。１束８本で２．５ポンドから３ポンド（４００〜４５０円）くらいで売られているので気軽に買うことが出来ます。

What you see plenty of are daffodils and tulips.  Most tulips sold seem yellow and pink.  In one bunch there are 8 tulips and 2.50 – 3 pounds a bunch.

ラナンキュラスもちょこちょこ見かけるので気になっています。２.５ポンド（４００円くらい）。色がちょっと可愛過ぎて、今日は買わずでした。シンガポールと同じく、イギリスでも明るくビビッドな色のお花が多いです。今多分日本でよく見かけるひらひらのパンジーは、まだ一度も見かけません。普通のパンジーは鉢植えでは見かけますが、切花では見かけたことがありません、こちらでも切花用に栽培されているのでしょうか？ミモザもまだ見かけません、もう少し先になると出てくるのかも。

I also find ranunculus often and I’ve been tempted to get them, these were 2.50 pounds.  The colours looked a little too cute to go with our decor so in the end I did’t get them.  Like in Singapore I guess English people love vivid colours for flowers, whereas in Japan often people like quiet or more subtle colours.  In Japan, I think frilly pansies are very popular now but I’ve never seen them here.  I don’t know if they are grown for cut flowers as I do see ordinary pansies in pots everywhere here. I haven’t seen any mimosas yet either, I guess the season is a little later here.
