Dinner At A Bistro

We arrived in Paris a little before 5.00pm local time (there is an hour’s time difference). It was still quite bright outside but it was raining a little and many shops are closed as it’s Sunday, so we had a rest in the room until the dinner time.

We hadn’t booked anywhere for dinner so we talked to the hotel staff for recommendations and went to a Bistro off the Champs-Élysées, about 15 minutes walk away.

My husband’s starter was terrine.

My starter was Endive and Blue Cheese Salad. The endive was quite finely chopped.

My main was Pot-au-Feu. The broth was very nice and carrots were fine but leek had some soil and made a noise in my mouth, which made my appetite disappear. Beef was tender but too gamy for me.

My husband had Steak Fritte. There was a small part edible but the rest was too tough to chew.

For dessert we shared Rumbaba. They just poured rum over the dry bread. Is it what Rumbaba is supposed to be? I thought the bread part is soaked with rum completely. It wasn’t enjoyable for me at all,

So, our first dinner in Paris this time was very disappointing. I think I’m not going to write the name of the Bistro.
