何日か前に Sainsbury’s というスーパーのサイトでオンラインショッピングが出来るようになっていました。この２、３週間、オンラインのお買い物は７０歳以上の方達やご病気がある方達などコロナに感染すると重症化するリスクが高い方達とNHS（病院）で働いておられる方しか出来ない状態になっていたのです。デリバリーは今も重症化リスクが高い方達のみですが、クリック＆コレクトと言ってオーダーはオンラインでしたお店でピックアップ出来るようになりました。今日のスロットが一番近い日だったので今日に設定していました。色々オーダーしましたが、欠品や代替え品が多く、中には「これで代替えってどうなん？」と思うものもありましたが、何しろそう言う品の数が多いので面倒でそのまま引き取って来てくれました（引き取りは夫が行ってくれました。）トイレットペーパーは手に入るようになっています。今も手に入らないのが小麦粉。お店の方によると、入って来たり、来なかったり、なのだそうです。普段なら買わないようなメーカーのものでもこの際仕方ないので買ったり、これを作りたいと思っても材料が手に入らなかったり、と色々と不便はありますが、状況を考えると仕方のないこと。
A few days ago we were able to do online shopping with Sainsbury’s finally. No delivery but we could do ‘Click & Collect’. The earliest slot for this was this afternoon. I’m glad we are now able to buy some things online although there were so many items that either were not available at all or were substituted – and some of them were awful substitutions. I know we can decline them but it’s not easy when there are so many of them, it’ll take a while to process. Still, it seems easy to get toilet paper now. We still cannot get flour – all purpose flour and self-raising flour both not available. My husband went to pick them up and he was told some days there are bags of flour but other days there are none, so it seems just a timing thing. We are having a lot of inconvenience like this but at the moment I feel nobody can complain. There are more important issues.
今日の夕食は、「Protein Packed Moroccan-Style Spiced Soup」。夫はヨーグルトをのせていますが、わたしはヨーグルト抜き。Dukkah というスパイスとナッツを合わせたようなものを上からぱらぱらっとかけます。なんだか、先日のビーフミンチを使ったハリラスープに似た系統のものを選んでしまっていました。パックのトマトが１パック入る上にトマトペーストも入るので、トマトトマトしていますが味付けは悪くないです、わたしはもう少しお水を足した方が好み。半分以上余っているので、残りは明日のランチになります。
Today’s dinner was Protein Packed Moroccan-Style Spiced Soup」. My husband put a little yogurt as well as Dukkah & coriander on his, but I just had the Dukkah & coriander. For some reason, we chose 2 very similar soups for this week. This one has a whole pack of chopped tomato as well as tomato paste, so it’s a little too tomatoey for me. I myself would add more water. We have more than a half left so that’ll be a nice large lunch tomorrow.
このダイニングルームのライトはネットで海外から取り寄せて、リノベーションで取り付けていただいたもの。まず、大きさが思っていたよりもずっと小さくてがっかり。オンラインではサイズの記載がなく、写真からこれくらいの大きさかなと思ってオーダーしたのでした。でも、大きさはもう慣れてきました。問題は明るさ。明るすぎるのです。しかも、使われている電球がとても珍しいタイプで、夫が検索してやっと見つけてくれて少し明るさを抑えたもの（２種類しかない）をオーダーしてくれたのですが、コロナウィルスの影響なのかどうなのか、もう届いているはずが届きません。明るさ、３分の２くらいになるそうなので、それで抑えられると良いのですが。。。日本も含めてアジアでは明るい電気をつけますが、イギリスやヨーロッパでは暗めが普通、わたしもそれに慣れてしまったので煌々と明るいのは雰囲気がなくて苦手です。
We ordered this ceiling light online long time ago and the electrician guy we used installed it for us during the renovation. On the website, there was no information about the size but we sort of guessed this from the photos, but it’s much smaller than I was expecting, so I’m a little disappointed. However, I’m getting used to the size. The worse problem is that the bulbs are much too bright! In Asia including Japan people prefer bright rooms but I’m more used to the European and British way so I prefer less bright rooms at night. Apparently the bulbs are so unusual, it took my husband days of searching online and he finally found them and ordered, they were supposed to arrive sometime ago but they haven’t – I’m guessing it’s to do with Coronavirus but not sure. They are supposed to be about 2/3 of the brightness, so I hope they’ll make it better.
引っ越して来てから今日までずっと、IKEA で買ったテーブルを使っていました。もともとダイニングテーブルとして売られていたものをシンガポールではカードを作るテーブルに使っていたものです。周りの家具がもっと北欧風だったら合っていたと思うのですが、我が家のインテリアはもう少し重めの感じなのでテーブルだけ浮いていて、ずっとダイニングルームの居心地が悪かったのです。お部屋の隅に今ブログを書いているテーブルも置いているのですっきりとしないというのもありますが、リノベーションで作りつけていただいたダイニングのウォールユニットの雰囲気と全く合わなかったのです。こうして気に入ったテーブルになって、テーブルを整える気持ちも出て来ました。
We’ve been using a table from IKEA for a dining table since we moved to this house. It was originally sold as a dining table but I had been using it as a craft table in Singapore. It’s not that something is so wrong with this table, in fact, it may look nice enough if the interior is more Scandinavian or of a lighter style, but our style is heavier and they don’t work together. I have to say I haven’t been comfortable with the way it looked in the dining room, specially after we came back after the renovation was done, because the wall unit we now have in the dining room and the IKEA table looked totally wrong together. Now that we have a table we like and it goes nicely in the room, I feel it’s worth thinking of the table settings again.
