やはり、今朝見たらピオニーの１つが散り始めていました。ピオニーはよくお花の頭ごとどさっと落ちてしまうのですが、今の所、このピオニーは外側にぐるりとある大きな花びらは散らずに中の小さな花びらがはらはらと散っています。

As I expected, the petals of one of the peonies started to fall off during the night.  Generally peonies tend to drop the whole head of the flower at once, but these seem different, the large petals outside of the head are still firmly staying and the thin petals inside are falling off.

 

 

 

そして、昨日蕾だったものも開いて、今回は全部のお花が綺麗に咲きました。ピオニーは蕾のままだめになってしまうものも結構あるので、全部咲いてくれて嬉しいです。お友達が教えてくれたのですが、蕾に蜜がついてべたべたしていたら拭き取ってあげると良いそうです。また、お水をスプレーすると開きやすいとネットで見たので毎日固い蕾にスプレーをしていたので、それも良かったのかもしれません。

I am very happy that all the buds opened this time because I often find some stay as buds and never open.  A friend told me it’ll help to wipe off the sticky liquid on the buds and I also sprayed water on the tight buds every day as I read it encourages them to open and I guess that helped.

 

 

 

デリバリーがあったのが木曜日だったので、今日は４日目。短い命。綺麗に咲いてくれるとますますダメになるのが残念ですが、かと言ってどんなに素敵な造花よりもやはり命があって少しずつ変化が見える生花が好きです、消えてゆくからこそ愛おしいのだと思います。今回のお花も、あと１日２日は他のお花が楽しませてくれると思います。

We had them delivered on Thursday so this is only the 4th day – such a short life.  I feel even more sad when they are looking so beautiful.  However, I still love fresh flowers rather than fake ones no matter how beautiful the fake flowers are because I prefer seeing the changes every day.  When they don’t change at all and last forever, somehow they aren’t as precious or enjoyable to me.  These will hopefully still look lovely for the next few days.
