少し前にお友達ご夫婦と行く予定がお天気が悪くて行けなかった「West Dean Gardens」に夫と２人で今日行くことにしたのですが、オンラインでチケットを購入（メンバーは無料ですが予約が必要）しようとしたら「メンバーシップが切れています」とメッセージが出て予約もメンバーシップの更新も出来ませんでした。多分ロックダウンでメンバーが増えすぎたのだろうと想像しますが、今は新しくメンバーにはなれなくなっています。夫が何度も電話をしてくれましたが誰も出ないし、どうしたものかと思ったのですが、車ですぐのところなのでとりあえず行ってみることにしました。もう切れているので更新ではなく新会員ということになるとしたら困るなぁ、と思っていましたが、幸い問題なく更新出来ました。以前は更新時期にメールを送っているけれど今年は送っていないとのこと。今月６日に切れたところなので、更新は問題なかったようでした。良かった！

A couple of days ago we decided to go to West Dean Gardens today because we hadn’t been able to go when we were planning to with our friends because the weather was bad for a long time. When we tried to book tickets (which, as members, would have been free but you still need to book) it said, our membership had run out!  Oh, no!  They aren’t taking new members right now, I guess because so many people became members during the lockdown.  My husband wrote an email and phoned them many times but didn’t get any reply so we didn’t know what to do.  In the end, we thought we’d just go and see if they can renew our membership right there – although there was a worry that they wouldn’t as they may consider it as a new membership as ours had already expired.  Fortunately, there was no problem with renewing it.  Apprently our membership had run out on the 6th July, so only a week or so ago.

昨日から良いお天気で、幸い風があったので日陰は涼しく良かったですが、今日は日中２４度くらいまで気温が上がって日差しが強く、結構暑かったです。

The weather has been great since yesterday.  Fortunately there was some breeze so it wasn’t too bad but it was quite hot, the temperature was up to 24C.

明日から３泊でデボン州というところに旅行に出ます。デボン州のお天気予報をみると２８度まで上がる予報になっています。ひぇ〜、暑すぎる〜！

We are gooing to Devon for a 3 night trip.  The weather forecast says it’ll get as high as 28C!  Oh dear, it’s going to be too hot for me…
