昨日から1泊で、城崎に行ってきました。城崎には以前にも行ったことがあり印象が良かったのですが、その時のブログを読んでみようと思っても見つからず、結局このブログを始めた2015年11月よりも前の2014年だった、ということがわかりました。このブログの以前はウェブリブログで10年ほどしていたのですがウェブリブログ自体がなくなってしまい、もうアクセス出来ず残念です。2014年に行ったときは西村屋本館に宿泊しとても良かったので、同じところに泊まるつもりが、やってしまいました。なぜだか「西村屋ホテル招月庭」に予約を入れていました。わたしも夫も昔ながらの情緒のある雰囲気の旅館が好きなのに、なぜホテルに予約を入れてしまったのか。がっかりな始まりでした。

We went to Kinosaki yesterday and stayed at a Japanese Hotel overnight. It’s a hot spring place and we’d been there twice before and had good impressions of the place so we went back. I thought we’d been there relatively recently so I looked up in my blog but could not find anything about the place, and found that it was in 2014, so almost 10 years ago! (We were there once before that also.). The last time when we were there we stayed at Nishimuraya, and liked it very much and I thought I’d booked the same place for this trip but I’d actually booked Nishimuraya Shogetsutei, which is under the same group but in a different place with a different concept. It’s a hotel (although they have Japanese rooms) rather than traditional Japanese Inn (Ryokan). My husband and I prefer traditional Japanese style at hot spring places, so this was very disappointing.

建物が新しいホテルなのは好みではなかったですが、お部屋は広くて綺麗で良かったです。

Although the whole building is a large new hotel and not to our liking ,our room was very nice, spacious and well-done.

いくつかオプションがあり、スパと呼ばれている家族風呂（3つあるうち、ジャパニーズバス）の予約を入れていたので、着いて少し休憩してから行きました。ここが予想以上に良かったです。脱衣場を兼ねた休憩する場所も広々としていましたし、お風呂そのものも家族風呂にしてはとても広く気持ち良く、お風呂から上がってゆっくりと寛げるのも良かったです。1時間ちょっとあるので、ゆっくり出来ます。冷たいプロセッコやお水も用意されていました（パッケージに含まれています。）岩盤浴のお部屋もあります。

When I made the booking, there were a few options I could add and one of them was to book a private family spa. There are 3 of them to choose from – Bali Spa, Chinese Spa and Japanese and I booked the Japanese one. This was a very nice experience, much better than I was expecting. The area, where you take your clothes on and off is made so you can also have a good rest after the bath, very spacious and comfortable. The bath itself was also much larger than what we’ve had when before when booking a family bath. There is also a sauna room. You can drink cold Prosecco or water (all included) after the bath while you relax in the seating area. You have 70 minutes to use the spa.

ウェルカムドリンクのバウチャーをいただいたので、お風呂の後、ロビーで夫は白ワイン、わたしはレモネードをいただきました。

After the spa, we had cold drinks in the main lobby lounge using our included welcome drink vouchers: my husband had a glass of white wine and I had a homemade lemonade.

今朝は、大浴場に入りました。男性用も女性用もそれぞれ内風呂と露天風呂があり、お湯が熱すぎず気持ち良かったです。お写真は、サイトからお借りしました。

This morning, we went in their large public bath – men and women separate. Each has one indoor bath and 1 outdoor bath. Smaller than many we’d been to but it was still lovely. The photo is from their website.

城崎は外湯が7つあって、自由にどのお風呂にも入れるのが良いところなのですが、このホテルは他のお宿が並んでいるところから結構離れていたので時間的にゆっくりと歩ける時間が昨日はなく、外湯に入れるパスは3時過ぎまで有効だったのでチェックアウトしてから行くことも出来たのですがわたしも夫も面倒になり、外湯めぐりはしませんでした。

In Kinosaki, there are 7 baths in the town that you can go in, which is a characteristic of Kinosaki. As a guest of our hotel you get a pass that allows you entry to all 7. Unfortunately our hotel was a little way away from them and we didn’t have a lot of time to con on the first day before dinner. We could have gone after check out because you can use the pass until 3:00pm or a little later, but we felt too lazy to do that so we didn’t go into any of the 7 baths this time.

手違いはありましたが、スパが良かったですし、このあとアップしますが夕食も美味しかったので、終わりよければ全て良し、といったところです。

So, although I made a big mistake, we did enjoy our stay there. The spa was lovely and the dinner (I’ll blog it later) was excellent – so all was good.
