今日は、スペイン階段近くの「Tartufi and Friends 」にランチに行きました。半年前にローマに泊まった時に2度行って今回の滞在でも2度目なので合計4度目。ローマは美味しいレストランがなかなか見つからないという印象なので、美味しかったところに何度も行っています。
We went back to our favourite restaurant in Rome “Tartuffi and Friends”. Well, I say “favourite “ but we haven’t tried many. From our previous experience we feel it’s very hard to find good restaurants in Rome so once we found one we are sticking with it. We went there twice when we stayed in Rome a half year ago and this was our second time on this trip so the 4th time in total. We said to ourselves that we would order different dishes this time because we had ordered exactly the same dishes for the first 3 times.
3度とも(トリュフを黒にしたり白にしたりの違いはありますが)同じものをいただいたので今回は変えてみよう、ということで前菜はローマ風のアティチョーク。ローマのお友達は、アーティチョークはもう季節の終わりで硬くなって来ていて美味しくないとおっしゃっていましたが、こういう高級レストランはサプライヤーさんがちゃんと美味しいのを探してこられるのだと思います、柔らかく美味しかったです。個人的にはもっとニンニクが効いている方が好きですが。
For the starter we shared Rome style artichoke, which is steamed with parsley and garlic. It was good but we felt it was not big enough so we ordered a second one. I would have preferred it with a little more garlic flavour but it was nice.
メインは1つずつ選んでシェア、夫は結局またラビオリ(黒トリュフ追加）、わたしはポークのカルボナーラにしてみました。ラビオリはいつものように美味しかったですが、カルボナーラはパスタはちょっと柔らかめでソースが緩すぎて多すぎ、味は良かったです。
For the main, we ordered one dish each and shared them. I chose Carbonara with pork, my husband in the end decided to order Raviolis again but with an addition of black truffle. The raviolis were as good as before but the carbonara was a bit strange, a lot of very loose sauce and the pasta was on the soft side. It did taste good though.
デザートは、今回もカンノーリ、いつもの美味しさでした。
We ordered the same dessert as usual, Cannoli, which was as good as usual, sooo good!
ランチの後は、ナボナ広場までぶらぶらと歩き、広場のバーで冷たい飲み物を飲んで休憩し、またスペインん階段のメトロの駅まで歩いてメトロでアパートメントまで戻りました。
After lunch, we walked slowly towards Piazza Navona, had a cold drink at a bar in the Piazza and cooled down, then walked back to Spanish Steps to take the Metro to get back to the apartment.
今日もカンカン照りで、気温は22、3度で丁度良いと思う気温だったのですが日差しが本当に強くて、日傘を差していても暑かったです。日本の5月頃の日差しが強い日のイメージ。人も多く歩道は狭くガタガタなので、暑さもあって疲れました。
It’s been a very sunny day again. The temperature was 22C or 23C so you would think it’s comfortable but it feels very hot with the blazing sun. Comfortable in the shade but hot in the sun even with a parasol. I think it’s a sort of weather you get in May in Japan sometimes. It was also very busy and the pavements are narrow and bumpy so you have to watch where you are walking all the time so we found it quite tiring.
