Pasta With Meatballs

The weather has been lovely for the last few days, about 22C day time and 10C the lowest at night, so quite a large difference.  When it’s so sunny it feels warm and just a very light long sleeve top is what you need and an extra layer in the evenings.  However when it’s not sunny it does feel chilly already.

It’s a Saturday today so my husband cooked dinner.  He came up with the idea himself and told me he was cooking Pasta with Meatballs, which he has often cooked on Saturdays for years and years.  It’s from Delia Smith’s recipes and uses minced beef and sausage meat for the meatballs but when we lived in Japan we weren’t able to get sausage meat (sausages there are German style, not English style) so he was using ordinary minced pork and even forgot as the time goes that sausage meat was what you are supposed to use.  Just recently we realised we can get sausage meat here so that’s what he used this time – though not English but Italian as we had some in the freezer.

Of course sausage meat adds extra flavour and makes them even more flavourful and tender, though it’s not very good for you…  It was delicious!
