Hamburg Steak in Tomato & Pepper Sauce

今日の夕食は、夫が大好きな煮込みハンバーグ。玉ねぎ、にんにく、赤と黄色のパプリカをじっくり蒸し炒めして一度取り出し、ハンバーグの外側だけ焼いて缶トマトを加え、お水を少しだけ加えて、お砂糖少量と塩胡椒をして2、30分煮込んでいます。大抵最後に外側を焼いた茄子とズッキーニを加えます。今日は茄子の大きなのしかなかったのでズッキーニだけにしたのですが、そのつもりで焼いていたズッキーニ、直前に加えるのを忘れたことを食事が終わってずいぶんしてから思い出しました、ショック(笑)。食べているときに何か物足らない気がしていたのですが。。。

Today’s dinner was Japanese style Hamburg Steak in tomato & pepper sauce.  I mix beef and pork and lots of slowly sauteed vegetables for the Hamburg Steak.  The sauce is basically a tomato sauce with some onions and red & yellow pepper.  I usually add some aubergine and cougette (sliced and sauteed quickly) in the last minute.  Today, I decided not to use aubergine but use just cougette, I cooked it early and kept it in a small bowl to add just before we eat – and forgot it completely!  I didn’t remember this until I was cleaning up in the kitchen.  I did think it seemed to lack something but couldn’t think of what.  It would have added a different texture…
