ZIG Clean Color Real Brush という水彩マーカーをずいぶん前に買ったのですがまだ使っていなかったので、トライしてみることにしました。The Daily Marker のCathy さんのこのカードを参考にしました。Kathyさんのカラリングはいつもとても素敵で、独自のスタイルがあるのも素晴らしいのです。

このカードでKathyさんは水彩画用の紙を使われていますが、わたしが使った紙は水彩用のものではなく Bristol という紙で、水彩用の紙ほど水分を吸水しないけれどこのマーカーと少量の水で色が綺麗に伸びてぼこぼこにもならないという情報だったので、こちらも初めてトライしました。水彩画用ではないのであまり水と使うとダメージがあるので、Kathy さんのように何度も重ねて塗ったりはせずに比較的シンプルに塗りましたが、Kathyさんスタイルに白いペンで飾りをつけたらそれなりになって、気に入っています。スタンプがスケッチーなので、自分で描いたように見えて可愛い。メッセージは小さく黒の紙に白でエンボスをしようかと思っていますが、必要に応じてそのときに貼っても良いかなと思っています。

I bought some ZIG Clean Color Real Brush pens quite a while ago but hadn’t tried them yet, so yesterday I decided to have a go.  The inspiration is from this card from Kathy of The Daily Marker.  Her colouring is always amazing and I love how she has her own style.

Kathy uses watercolour paper but I decided to use Bristol paper this time because I have read many times how it works great with these markers and you can use water on it.  As it is not watercolour paper, I didn’t want to use too much water, so my colouring is much simpler than Kathy’s.  I didn’t mix a lot of colours and didn’t layer the colours very much.   I made a mistake of putting grey around to make it look like a shadow like Kathy did and I made a mess, I think you need watercolour paper for that because the colour doesn’t move in the way I wanted it.  Even so, after adding some details with white gel pen like Kathy’s signature look, it looks lovely, if I may say so myself.  Very happy with the result.  I think I will stamp a small sentiment on a black card stock and heat emboss it, but I will wait until I know what sentiment I need.

The stamp set I used is Wplus9’s Doodle Buds.  As the stamps are very sketchy, it looks as if I drew them myself, very cute.
