今日のランチは、ウィーロックに用があったので、久しぶりに「NamNam」に行きました。ほとんど毎回同じものを食べていて、揚げ春巻き、ミンチのポークのヌードル、バーンミー（これはあれこれ試していて、今日はレモングラスポークのものをクリームチーズ抜きで）をシェアー。飲み物は、フレッシュライムソーダ。３８ドル（３０００円くらい）。

We had a quick lunch at NamNam in Wheelock Place because we needed to be in the M&S there.  We almost always have the same things, we share – Deep-fried spring rolls, Pork ball noodles, Vietnamese sandwich (we tried Lemon grass Pork without cream cheese today, we liked it) and have Fresh Lime Soda each.  S$38.

これ、美味しいのですけど、少し前に突然すごく辛くなって、小さな辛い唐辛子を刻んだものがたくさん入っているのでわたしたちにはちょっと辛すぎます。涙が出ました（笑）。

Although we love the flavour of this noodle, they started making it extremely spicy a little while ago, we noticed it last time when we had it in the Plaza Singapura NamNam.  It didn’t used to be so spicy but now it’s extreme – at least much too spicy for us.  We were crying by the time we finished it.

イギリスではクリスマス前後にはケーキやナッツやスナック類などをたくさん用意する習慣があるので、Marks & Spencer であれこれ買いこみました。こういうお買い物が楽しいところがシンガポールにはなくて残念。そんな中では、規模が小さいですがMarks & Spencer がまだましかな、と思います。クリスマスプディングやちょっと特別なチョコレートやナッツやビスケットなど、色々買ってきました。ブロンズ色のツリーの飾りで良いかなと思ったものもあったのですが結構なお値段で数が必要なので、やはり今年は少し寂しいですが今のままにしておくことに。来年からはもっとチョイスがあるはずなので。

In England, it’s customery to buy lots of cakes, nuts, snacks etc to have around Christmas so we went to M&S to get some.  Sadly there aren’t any really good places where you can do this sort of shopping, enjoying the Christmassy mood.  M&S is quite small here but I think it’s probably the best place for this sort of shopping.  We bought Christmas pudding, some special chocolates, nuts, biscuits etc.  We also saw some tree ornaments in bronze but it would have been expensive to buy the number we need, so we decided to wait until next year when we’ll have much better choices in England.

そのあと、何か素敵なクリスマスグッズはないかと IONのCrate & Barrel まで行ってみましたが、好みの飾りは見つからず、戦利品ゼロ（涙）。たまに Crate & Barrel では好みのものが見つかるのですが、今年はあまり目新しいものがなかったです。

We then walked to Crate & Barrel in ION hoping to find some nice Christmas decorations but we didn’t find anything we liked.  It’s one place I sometimes find something I like but I didn’t see anything special this time.

そして、同じ階で夫が好きなスコッチウィスキーや葉巻を買って戻って来ました。まだ、タクシー待ちもなく、すんなり戻れて良かった。先延ばしにせず今日しておいて良かったです。クリスマスが近づくほど混んで、タクシーを捕まえるのも大変になってくるので。

They also have a whisky shop and a cigar shop on the same floor so my husband bought a bottle of Scotch whisky and some cigars.  There was hardly any queue for taxies so we were able to get one straight away and get back without any problem.  I’m glad we’ve done it now rather than leaving it to later this month when it’ll get crazy.
