Blackberry, Blueberry & Apple Crumble


I very seldom make dessert but today I made a crumble as I wanted to use up the crumble topping which my husband made some time ago that has been sitting in the fridge,.  I made the filling a couple of days ago but we forgot to have it yesterday. I just added some oats, sliced almonds and brown sugar into the crumble topping my husband made, put it on top of the filling and baked it in the oven for 20 minutes or so at 200C.



The filling is blackberries, blueberries (we bought them from an online supermarket but they were very sour and didn’t taste much of anything) and apples.  I cooked it only for a short time and kept the texture of apples rather than cooking until they were very soft.  All I did was to add a little water and sugar to the fruits and cooked it until it seemed right.  I added a short stick of cinnamon, which was quite strong.  In general, I’m not a fan of cooked fruits but the topping makes it nice enough for me to enjoy.  My husband poured some cream over his and seemed to have enjoyed it very much.
