Sausage & Bean Casserole


Last year on this day we moved into our house properly.  Although our boxes had arrived from Singapore about a week or so before then, we were still staying at the cottage we were renting, driving up and down and working on unboxing very hard every day and the place was finally tidy enough for us to move in.  The renovation wasn’t going to start until middle/end February, so there were many boxes that we weren’t able to unbox and had to put away, but we worked very hard on 560 boxes so we can make the house look good enough for us to live in.  The winter last year was extremely wet even for England, there were many places flooded so we weren’t able to go out much and were looking forward to being able to visit many places with our friends in spring when the weather improved, but unfortunately the coronavirus happened and we still haven’t been able to visit the towns/villages we want to mooch around near us.  I hope it won’t be too long before we will be able to do so safely.  Anyway, a year has gone very fast.


今日のディナーは、「Sausage & Bean Casserole」(ソーセージと豆の煮込み)。入っているのはソーセージ、玉ねぎ、セロリ、パプリカ、チョリソー、ニンニク、豆(小豆とありますがブラックビーンズを使いました)、缶トマト、白ワイン。スパイスは、パプリカ、クミン、タイム。

Today’s dinner was Sausage & Bean Casserole.  It has sausages, onion, celery, pepper, chorizo, garlic, beans (the recipe says aduki but we used black beans), tin tomato, white wine, paprika, cumin & thyme.
