コロナの状況は更に悪化していて、とても心配な状況です。本来なら今全国的にロックダウンをするべきなのでしょうが、多分、２５日のクリスマス当日まではしないでしょうね。２６日から全国的に３度目のロックダウンになるかもしれません。フランス側に帰れないトラックの運転手さんたち、あんなところで飲み物も食事もお手洗いもない状態でほったらかされて、とてもお気の毒。フランス側が国境をクローズする気持ちはわかりますが、そうなったときにこうなるのはわかっていることで、両政府がどうにかするべきですよね。そして、食料品や日用品の不足も。幸い、最初のロックダウン以来、トイレットペーパーや粉などなくなると困るものである程度の期間保存ができるものは早めに補充してそこそこ在庫は置いてあるのでしばらく大丈夫ですが、生鮮品などはそんなに保存できませんし、１ヶ月以上前に既にこの時期のスーパーのデリバリー枠はなくなっていたし。ファームショップなどもありますし、パスタなどはいつでも作れるので何とかなりますが。Brexit のことも何かと心配ですし、いやはや、とても困った状況です。

The situation with coronavirus seems to be getting worse (not that I expected it not to) and is quite worrying.  I think they should do a national lockdown now but I don’t expect them to do so until Christmas Day is over, maybe they will on Boxing day.  I feel so sorry for all those truck drivers who are stuck not to be able to go to the French side without water, food or toilet facilities.  Although I understand why the French government closed the border, both of the governments must’ve known what would happen and what should be done, they shouldn’t be left like that.  Of course, now there is a potential shortage of food and basic household supplies, too, which is such a pain.  Fortunately, I have been storing a little extra household things that can keep since the first lockdown so we should be OK for a little while, but you cannot buy a large amount of fresh food and sadly the delivery slot of the supermarket wasn’t available around this time when I checked a month or longer ago already.  There are small farm shops around here and we can always make a pasta dish or two with what we have at home, so we won’t starve but it is rather inconvenient.  Brexit is also a huge worry.  So much is going on!

さて、今日の夕食は一銭焼きとお好み焼きでした。お好み焼き、ホットプレートがほとんど隠れるくらいの大きさになってしまったのでひっくり返すときに崩れそうでドキドキしましたが、うまくひっくり返せました、良かった。とても美味しかったです。

Anyway, today’s dinner was Okonomi-yaki & Issen-yaki.  The okonomo-yaki was so large that it covered most of the hot plate surface, I was a bit worried if I’ll be able to flip it without breaking it but I was and it was good.
