ネットで北海道が発祥の地という「ラーメンサラダ」を時々見かけて気になっていたので、今日のランチに作ってみました。冷やし中華に似ていますが、冷やし中華とは違うらしい。調べてみるとレシピも様々だったので、適当に。ゴマドレッシングとマヨネーズが使われていることが多いようなので、普段市販のドレッシングを使わないのですがこれようにわざわざピエトロのゴマドレッシングを購入して（笑）、買い置きしていました。

I sometimes see references to “Ramen Salad”, which they say is originally from Hokkaido, Japan, and I’ve been curious what it’s like, so we tried it for lunch today.  It is similar to Hiyashi Chuka (Cold Ramen), but a ittle different.  I searched online but there are so many variations of the recipe that I just basically made it up.  Many recipes used a mixture of sesame dressing and Japanese mayonnaise as a dressing,  we very seldom use store- bought salad dressing but I bought a bottle for this.

トマト、きゅうり、玉ねぎ、セロリ、ロメインレタス、ロケットを入れてみました。ピエトロのゴマドレッシングとマヨネーズといりごまを擦ったものをたっぷり。マヨネーズを混ぜるとドレッシングが絡んでくれるのが良いです。どうあるべきなのか知らないですが、美味しくいただきました。

I used tomatoes, cucumbers, onion, celery, Romaine lettuce & rocket as well as ramen noodles and made a dressing with the sesame dressing and mayonnaise.  Adding mayonnaise make the dressing cling to the noodles, which is good.  I don’t know what it’s actually supposed to be like but we quite enjoyed it.

そして、ランチの後、なんと、なんと、デパートにお買い物に行きました！食料品をたま〜にスーパーで買うことはありましたが、それ以外のお買い物はやはり１４カ月ぶり以上のこと。ロックダウンが緩和された日はデパートに入るのも長い列が出来ていたので落ち着くまで待つことにしたのですが、今日行ってみるとがらがらでした。お天気が良いですし、多分、みなさん、ウォーキングをしたりして外のお天気を楽しんでおられるのだと思います。お買い物と言っても大したものではなかったのですが、実際にものを見てお買い物をするのはやはり楽しかったです。

After lunch, we went out for shopping to a department store!!!  We have been to supermarkets for food occasionally, but we hadn’t done any other shopping for the last 14 months at least.  On the day when the lockdown was loosened a couple of weeks ago, there were long queues everywhere including this department store to get in, so we were waiting for things to settle down.  I guess many people are enjoying this beautiful weather outside doing things like walking, the department store was very quiet.  We didn’t buy anything that special, but it was fun to be able to see things for shopping.
