Lavender Farm & Country Side

On our 2nd day in the Cotswolds, after walking in Bourton-On-The-Water, we also went to Cotswolds Lavender.  They’d been closed (out of season) and re-opened this day, so we knew we were too early for seeing a lot of lavender and we were right.  I was hoping there would be a shop where we can see and buy lavender goods but the one they had was a little shop outside, not somewhere you go in and see what they have.  There wasn’t anything else to do and we didn’t feel it was worth the entrance fee of 7 pounds per person.  I guess it is a very popular place, though, because the parking area was so huge.  There were people who were having picnics at several picnic benches, maybe that’s what you are supposed to do here.

I took these photos from the car, I thought they show some typical English country side.

We had tea and scones at a table in the garden of the hotel after getting back.  The scones we had on the day before were crispy & fluffy & delicious, being freshly baked, but the ones we had on this second day were very dry and not enjoyable at all. I’d never enjoyed scones at afternoon tea at any luxury hotels in the past because they’d never been freshly baked and was so happy that their scone was freshly baked on the day before here but I guess we were just lucky that day.
