ドーセットのSummer Lodge に２泊して、帰って来る途中「Poundbury」という街でランチをしました。この街は１９９３年から実験的にチャールズ皇太子が深く関わって造られている街で、２０２５年に完成予定だそうです。批判もたくさんあるようですが、わたしは結構素敵だと思いました。

After leaving Summer Lodge in Dorset, we stopped at the town of “Poundbury” for lunch.  Poundbury is an experimental new town started in 1993 with the keen endorsement of the Prince of Wales and is supposed to be completed in 2025.  Apparently there has been quite a lot of criticism of the place, but I thought it was quite a nice town.

ランチは、Duchess of Cornwall というパブでいただきましたが、内装がとても素敵でした。(わたしが撮った写真では、素敵さが全然伝わりませんが。涙。）

We had lunch at the “Duchess of Cornwall” pub in the main square. The interior was very nice but my photos sadly don’t show how nice it is.
