We saw a Chaffinch on the day before yesterday.  Apparently, chaffinches are the most widespread and seen bird in England but we hadn’t seen one until yesterday.   Both times it wasn’t at the bird feeder but was eating the dropped seeds on the ground under the feeder, which is apparently what they tend to do.  Unless we stand at the window of my craft room and look down we don’t see the ground under the feeder so maybe it was often here but we just hadn’t seen it.
