イギリスのビーチには良くビーチ・ハットという小さな小屋がずらっと並んでいて、カラフルな色でペイントしてありとっても可愛いくてフォトジェニックです。中に棚などが吊ってあるものもあるそうですが。基本的には何もないただの小屋で、この中で着替えたりお茶を飲んだりするためのものとのこと。夫も子供の頃に家族で使っていたとのことです。でも、調べてみると、中にはキチネットを設置したハットもあるみたいです。基本的には政府から購入するそうなのですが、最近はとても高価になってしまったそうです。中には１日いくら、とか１週間いくらとレンタルしているビーチ・ハットもあるそうなので、一度１日だけ借りてみたいな〜。わたしは海に入るつもりは全くなく、ただこの中で海を眺めながらのんびりしたら楽しそう、と思うのですが、お天気が悪いと意味がないので、それが問題。

On some beaches in England you see these beach huts with very colourful painting, very cute and photogenic.  Apparently some of them have little shelves but basically they have nothing inside, you use it to change or have a cup of tea.  My husband says he remembers using one when he was young with his family.  I did a little research just now and it looks like some of them have a kitchinette.  Apparently you purchase it from the local government but some of them are on rental for a week or for a day.  I think it’s fun to rent one just for a day.  I have no intention to get in the sea or anything, I just think it may be fun to be in there, relaxing, reading a book, having tea, looking at the blue sea – but one problem is it’s not fun if it’s not a lovely day.
