デボンのダートムアにある  Gidleigh Park Hotel から戻って来ました。遅ればせながら、メリー・クリスマス！

We are back from Gidleigh Park Hotel in Devon!  Merry Christmas to everyone!

いつもそうなのですが今回は特にホテルのWi-Fiが遅くシグナルもほとんど届かないところなので、ブログの更新は諦めてしまいました。イギリスは、本当に携帯電話のシグナルが届かないところが多くて困ります。

The Wi-Fi in the hotel was very slow, it’s always slow but particularly bad this year, and the phone signal was very weak as well, so I gave up on updating my blog. It is a big problem that the phone signals are so weak or non-existent in such large areas in England (UK?).

何はともあれ、クリスマスイブから楽しくのんびりと３日間を過ごして来ました。途中経営は変わりましたが、３３、４年通っているホテルなので居心地良く過ごせました。デコレーションはシンプルですが、大きなクリスマスツリーがいくつか置かれていて、クリスマスの雰囲気を存分に味わえます。

Anyway, we had a very relaxing three days from Christmas Eve.  Although the owner of the hotel changed some years ago we’ve been staying with them for 33 or 34 years almost every year so we feel very comfortable there.  The Christmas decorations of the hotel are very simple, but very tasteful, a few large Christmas trees here and there and it does look lovely and Christmassy.

今年はお天気にも恵まれて、朝霧が出たりはしましたが、この時期にしては青空が見られる珍しく良いお天気でした。

We were very lucky with the weather.  Although there was some mist at times, we had some blue sky every day, which is I think rare for this time of year.
