今日は寒かったですが(予報通り最高気温は16度くらいでした)、良いお天気でした。
It was cold (16C highest) but very nice and sunny.
今日の夕食は、シャワルマ・チキンのラップとサラダでしたが、冷凍庫から冷蔵庫に移すのを忘れていて移したのがお昼前で、しばらくして様子を見て流水に漬けようと思っていたのですが、夕方4時からのご近所の集まりが思っていたより長引いて、終わったのが6時半でした。その時点でまだ流水に漬けていなかったので慌てて漬けて様子を見ていましたが、7時前にまだ結構凍っていたので仕方なく5分ほど電子レンジにかけてからエアーフライヤーで焼きました。
Today’s dinner was Shawarma Chicken Wrap with a salad. I’d forgotten to move the frozen chicken (marinaded in Shawarma marinade) last night and didn’t do so until just before lunch time. I was going to put it in running water if it was still very frozen but I had to be at a neighbourhood meeting from 4:00pm, which took longer than I expected. When we came back home around 6:30pm, the chicken was still hard so I put it in running water in a plastic bag and checked after 30 minutes. It was still a little too hard in the middle parts so I ended up microwaving it for about 5 minutes before baking it in the airfryer.
初めて買ってみた大きな中近東風のフラットブレッドにきゅうり、玉ねぎ、スマック、シャンツァイと一緒にチキンとソース(ヨーグルトとハリッサを混ぜたもの)一緒にくるくるっと巻いていただきました。フラットブレッドがとても薄いのであっという間に固くなってきてしまったので、やっぱりいつものピタパンの方が良いかなと思いましたが、それでも美味しかったです。
We used a couple of a type of Middle-Eastern flat bread that we had bought for the first time, much larger and thinner than the pita bread we’d usually been buying. We put the sliced chicken with cucumber, onion, sumac, coriander leaves and sauce (a mixture of yogurt & harissa) on the warmed up bread and rolled it up. The flatbread was so thin and became hard very quickly and it was a little too chewy so we thought the pita we usually use was probably more suited for this. It was still very tasty.
