Soft Tacos

今日の夕飯は、ソフトタコス。冷凍していたチリコンカーニ、レタス、玉ねぎ、ワカモーレ、トマト、シャンツァイ、タコソースをトルティーヤにのせて巻いていただきます。テーブルセッティングに相当違和感ありますが、トルティーヤは中華蒸し器で蒸しています(笑)。暖かさもキープできて良い感じ。日本に住んでいた頃は2週間に1度くらいの頻度で日曜日のお昼にしていました。日本では当時トルティーヤは手に入らなかったので、春巻きの皮で。春巻きの皮の方が軽くてもっちりしていて好きかも。でも、ここではトルティーヤの方がどこでも手に入るので。

Today’s dinner was something like Soft Tacos.  I always use left-over chilli con carne with shredded lettuce, sliced onion, guacamole, chopped tomato, coriander leaves & taco sauce.  I use Chinese bamboo steaming thing for steaming the tortilla, it works nicely as it keeps them warm as well on the table.  We used to have this as often as every other Sunday for lunch when we lived in Japan.  As we weren’t able to find tortilla in Japan we used to use spring roll skin, which I think we actually prefer because the texture is sort of chewy in a nice way and much lighter than tortilla.  Here, tortilla is everywhere but not spring roll skin.
