最近は旅行中アイフォンと一眼レフと両方で撮るので、写真選びが余計ややこしくて時間がかかってしかたありません（涙）。写真は全部撮った日付時間順に取り込まれるのですが、アイフォンは現地時間、一眼レフはこちらの時間で記録されているので前後ぐちゃぐちゃになってしまい、ややこしい。。。その上、インスタグラムでアップした写真はサイズが違うので重複した形で保存されるので、ますますややこしい。なので、景色の写真が多少前後する可能性大ありです。

As I take photos with both my iPhone and an SLR, it seems to take forever to choose photos to use on my blog when I write about holidays these days.  Photos are shown in on my computer in order of date and time they were taken, but my iPhone is automatically set for the local time whilst my SLR is always on Singapore time so they get messed up.  Besides, photos I upload on Instagram are also saved which have their own timestamp, which confuses me a lot.  It’s very likely that I get the order of scenery shots wrong.

ケープタウンのコンスタンティア滞在中に、１日はケープ半島をグルリと一周しました。この日もお天気が良く真っ青な空と真っ青な海、景色の素晴らしさは言葉にはできません。お昼の時間など考慮すると時計と反対にドライブする方が都合が良かったのですが、滞在していたB＆Bのオーナーさんのアドバイスで時計回りのルートでドライブしました。その方が海のすぐ側を走ることが出来るので景色が良いのです。（２車線なので反対周りは山側を走ることになります。）

When we were staying in Constantia, we took a day trip to drive around the Cape Peninsula.  It was a beautiful day as you will see with beautiful blue sky and the sea, the scenery was just beautiful = again I have no words for it.  We were thinking of driving anti-clockwise because I wanted to have lunch at certain place but the B&B owner, very rightly, advised us to drive clockwise, that way you drive on the sea side of the road rather than the mountain side and the scenery is more beautiful.

Constantia – Mizenberg – Simon’s Town (Boulders Beach) – Cape of Good Hope – Scarborough – Chapman’s Peak Drive – Constantia

というルートです。Simon’s Town の近くの Boulders Beach には野生のペンギンがいるのでペンギンを見て、Cape of Good Hope と呼ばれる半島の先端でランチをして戻って来ました。止まらずにぐるっと走れば３時間くらいの距離です。Haut Bay 手前の Chapman’s Peak Drive は「世界でも最も美しい景色」の１つと言われていて、本当にその通りの絶景でした。何度、「Wow!! Beautiful!!  Amazing!!」と声を上げたことでしょう。写真には映らない美しさなので、ビデオを撮れば良かったです。

We stopped at Boulders Beach, which is near Simon’s Town, to see the wild penguins then continued our drive to Cape of Good Hope, where we had lunch, then drove through Scarborough, and Chapman’s Peak Drive back to Constantia.  I think it’s about 3 hours if you drive without stopping.  Chapman’s Peak Drive, which is a little before Haut Bay, is regarded as one of the most beautiful drives and I agree, it was beyond beautiful.  I don’t know how many times I said “Wow!!  Beautiful!!  Amazing!!”.  I wish I took a video because the photos don’t do it justice.

Anyway, even when you end up having not a not very good lunch, it’s definitely worth it for the view.

 

 

Mizerberg とSimon Town 。南アフリカはオランダの植民地だった歴史があるので、建物にもその影響が見られて素敵です。ちょっつぶらぶらして見たかったのですが、暑くて。

Mizenberg and Simon Town looked nice.  Because of the history of the connection with the Dutch, the buildings have their influence and look very pretty.  I would have loved to walk a little if it weren’t so hot.

 

 

サイモンタウン近くのBoulders Beach。一番近い駐車場から数分歩いたところ。入り口で入場料を払って入ります。やはりここも、ケープタウンでは観光名所になっているので、結構人がいました。

Boulders Beach near Simon Town.  From the closest parking lot, you walk a few minutes and pay for the entrance fee for the penguin viewing area.  This is also very touristy place so there were quite a lot of people.

 

 

 

野生なので触ってはいけませんが、ここのペンギンはかなり人の近くでも平気でいました。まだ羽が生え変わっていない赤ちゃんもいるのですが、大人に比べて小さくなくてびっくり。むしろ大人よりぷっくり。

You cannot touch the penguins as they are wild but they don’t seem to be afraid of people and do come quite close.  We saw some babies, that were bigger than I expected, they looked more plump than adults.

 

 

 

 

この日、暑いくらい良いお天気だったのですがとにかく風が強く、ビーチのサラサラした白い砂が砂嵐のように襲って来るので目の中に入って痛くて、ゆっくりペンギン見学をする余裕なし。数分歩いただけであきらめて引き返してしまいました。

Although it was a beautiful day, it was also very windy and the sand from the beach was being blown about and got in our eyes, which was quite painful, so we weren’t able to enjoy looking at the penguins for long and gave up in a few minutes.

他にもここほど観光地されていないらしい野生のペンギンを見れるビーチがあり、別の日にそこに寄る予定だったのでこの日は早々に諦めて先に向かうことにしました。

We were planning to stop at another place  to see more wild penguins on another day, so we weren’t too sad about cutting this one short.
