先週金曜日に船便の荷物の搬入がありましたが、今日まではお友達に貸していただいていたコテージに寝泊りしていました。家から車で1時間半前後かかるので運転する夫は大変だったと思いますが、近くのホテルに泊まるより費用が安いのはもちろんのこと、食事も作れますしリラックスもできたので助かりました。イギリスに着いて４日目から3週間弱(途中ロンドンに行きましたが)お借りしましたが、思っていたよりリノベーションの件で家にいる必要があったり買い物に出なくてはいけなかったり、船便が思っていたより早く着いたこともあって、ニューフォレストを楽しむ時間がなかったのは残念でしたが、家から少し離れたところにしばらく滞在するのも楽しかったです。

Our shipment arrived and boxes were unloaded a week ago but we have been sleeping at the cottage in the New Forest that we have been renting from our friends until this morning. It takes around an hour and a half by car from the cottage to our house so I think it’s been a bit tiring for my husband but we are grateful for being able to stay at the cottage as we were able to cook a meal now and again and it was much more relaxing than staying in a nearby hotel as well as being much cheaper. We stayed at the cottage nearly 3 weeks from our 4th day in England but we were busier than we expected with the meetings on the renovation of the new house, and having to do quite a lot of shopping as well, so unfortunately we didn’t have much time to be able to see the area. It was still nice to ‘live’ in a little different area from where we’ll be living.

リノベーションが終わるまで行き場のないものがたくさんあるので家が片付いたわけではないのですが、リビングルームとダイニングルームは一応箱はなくなって片付いてはいますし、ベッドルーム(主寝室用のベッドてマットレスガレージ来るまでゲストルーム)も一応整っているので、今日からは家で暮らします。

ということで、今朝は荷物をまとめて、お世話になったコテージのお掃除をして我が家に移動。

丁度ランチタイムに家に着いたので、昨日買っておいたイタリアのパンを焼いている方が24時間発酵させた生地で焼いたと書かれているピッツァをオーブンで温めて頂きました。チーズは載っていなくて、パプリカや玉ねぎたっぷりでした。

There are still lots of things we cannot put away until the renovation is finished, so our house is far from tidy, but at least the living room and the dining room are tidy now without any boxes and the guest bedroom (where we are sleeping until our new bed comes) is ready, so we finally moved in today.

We arrived around lunch time so we warmed up the Farretti’s Pizetta we bought yesterday – it’s made with the dough fermented for 24 hours. No cheese, a lot of red and yellow pepper and onion.

ランチの後は、お友達が用意してくださってコテージで使わせていただいていたタオル類をお洗濯。まだ洗濯機も乾燥機もないので、すぐ近くにあるコインランドリーで。

After a quick lunch, we washed and dried the towels our friends provided for us at the cottage. We don’t have a washing machine or a tumble drier yet so we went to a launderette nearby.

 

船便が着くのがもっと遅いと思っていたので、片付かない家の中にツリーを置いてもと思っていましたが、思っていたより早く着いて一応片付いたので、お洗濯の後、ガーデンセンターにツリーを買いに行きました。家の天井は低いですしお部屋も広くないの、今年は小さな可愛いツリーにしました。明日の朝、夫と飾り付けをします。

We weren’t going to get a Christmas tree this year because we thought our house would be full of boxes but as we had enough time to make the living room tidy enough we decided to get one and went to a garden centre after washing the towels. The ceiling of our house is low and the living room isn’t large so we bought a cute little one this year. We’ll decorate it tomorrow morning.

家もそこそこ片付いてきて、今日から寝泊りするので、やっとイギリスに住んでいる気分になってきたような気がします。

Now that the house is looking better and we are going to sleep here, I think I started to feel that we now live in England!
