今日も９時半頃から耳をすましていたら、カサカサカサっと枯葉の上を歩く音がして、竹が植わっているところからハリネズミくんが出てきました。もう直ぐ真っ暗になるというときに出てきます。遠くから暗い中でですが、ビデオを撮ってみました。

I was listening from around 9.30pm and heard the noise the hedgehog makes walking on dry leaves, so I looked in our garden and saw it coming out of the bamboo bush again today.  It comes out just before it becomes completely dark, so it’s fairly dark but I did manage to take a video.

ハリネズミは視力はあまり良くないけれど、鼻が効くそうです。なので多分匂いでわかるのでしょうね、テーブルの下に入ってこちら側にまっすぐ出てくるかと思って待ちましたが、離れた方に出て行きました。

Apparently hedgehogs cannot see very well but do have a good sense of smell.  I guess he knew someone was near when he went under the table, I was wating for it to come out straight near where I was but it must’ve changed its direction under the table and came out from the side furthest from me.
