クリスマスに泊まったホテルからは、クリスマスプレゼントもいただきました。

When we stayed Gidleigh Park Hotel over Christmas we received a lot of presents from the hotel.

まず、チェックインして入った時にお部屋に置いてあったプレゼント、エコバッグの中に色々入れてありました。

When we checked in this bagfull of presents were  in the room.

２０センチくらいの結構大きな鉢に植えた水仙、もうずいぶん茎が伸びています。

Probably narcissus in a pot of about 20 centimeter diameter, the stems/leaves have grown quite a lot since.

ボトルに入っているのは、手作りのセージの香りをつけたオリーブオイル、その右にスコップ、左に琺瑯のマグ２つ、その奥はノート。

The little bottle contains homemade sage olive oil, on the right side of that is a spade, on the left of the bottle 2 mugs, behind that is a notebook.

そして、クリスマスの日はドアにプレゼント入りのストッキングがかかっていました。

Then on Christmas Day this stocking was on the doorknob with lots of presents inside.

中には、こんなにたくさんのあれこれが詰まっていました。小さなテディーベアー、その横はトリュフチョコ。手前の左がガーデニングの本、右の手前がドライバーのセット、他にミニチュアのジンや種など植えた時に植物の名前を書いて挿しておくやチョコレート、ダートモア・ガーデナー・ソープ、ゲームなど、それぞれ「ハウスキーピングから」「レセップションから」などと書かれていて、今回のプレゼントは主にガーデニングがテーマのようでした。

A little teddy bear, a bag of truffle chocolates, a gardening book, a set of several small screwdrivers, a miniture bottle of gin, name sticks for plants, some chocolates, a Dartmoor Gardener Soap, some sort of a game (cribbage).  Each one had a little tag that said “from housekeeping” or “from the reception” etc.  It looks like the theme of this year’s presents was gardening.
