今日は雲ひとつない青空が広がって、とっても気持ち良いお天気でした。でも、また明日は雨みたい（涙）。寒くなっていてマイナス２度まで下がるようなので、雪になってくれれば嬉しいのに。

It was beautiful weather today, no clouds, blue sky.  However, it looks like it’ll rain tomorrow.  It’s gone very cold, expected to go down to minus 2C, I wish it snowed!

今日はクリスマスから１２日目ということで、クリスマスツリー（飾りとライトを取ってとりあえずお庭に置いています、夫が近々切って小さくしてお庭のゴミのビンに入れる予定）やリースやあちらこちらに飾っていたクリスマスの飾りを片付けて、お掃除をして、すっきりしました。クリスマスの飾りは出した時はそれなりにクリスマス気分になれて良いものですが、しばらくすると色々出ているのがごちゃごちゃして見えて、片付けるとすっとします。

As it’s the 12th Day, we took down all the Christmas decorations (the tree is in the garden waiting for my husband to cut into small enough pieces to go in the garden rubbish bin) and cleaned the living room thoroughly so it’s looking clean and neat now.  Although Christmas decorations are lovely and help us feel Christmassy, they start looking untidy after a while, specially after Christmas.  It feels great when they are gone.

今日の夕食は、チキンとお野菜のカレーでした。昨日チキンのもも肉を冷凍庫から冷蔵庫に移しておいて、今日夫に「チキンのもも肉料理、何が良い？オリーブとトマト煮、とかインドのチキンカレー（日本のカレールーや小麦粉を使わないもの）とか日本のカレー（日本のカレールーを使ったもの）とか。。。」と聞くと日本のカレーという返事だったので、ポテトや人参も入れた日本風のものにしました。使ったスパイスは、クミン（クミンシードとクミンパウダー）、フェネグリーク、チリパウダー、ターメリック。他に玉ねぎの微塵切り、ニンニク、生姜、トマト、ケチャップ、塩胡椒。

Today’s dinner was Chicken & Vegetable curry.  I moved chicken thighs from the freezer to the fridge last night so asked my husband what he would like to cook for dinner, I said we could do Chicken in Tomato & Olives, Japanese Chicken curry, Indian Chicken Curry, or anything else he fancies, and he wanted Japanese Chicken Curry, so that’s what we cooked.  It has minced onion, tomato, garlic, ginger, cihcken, potato, carrot, cumin (seeds & powder), Fenegrek, chilli powder, turmeric, ketchup, salt, pepper & Japanese curry roux.
