Lunch At Brasserie Blanc In Chichester

Usually, only the 1st January is a public holiday here but the 2nd and the 3rd were also public holidays this year because Christmas and Boxing Day happened to be on the weekend, but things got back to normal on Wednesday.  I guess it’ll be Monday, when things go back to normal in Japan.

It was lovely to see the blue sky this morning but by the time we finished lunch, sadly, it was raining.

今日はお昼前にチチェスターのネイルサロンに行ったので、ランチをすることにしました。お昼にしっかり食べて、夜はトーストか何かで済ませちゃおうという魂胆。Brasserie Blanc に行きました。

I went to a nail salon in Chichester a little before lunch time so we had lunch at Brasserie Blanc in Chichester.  We decided to have a big lunch so we don’t need to have dinner.

My husband had Escargot for starter.

I had baguette with 3 dips.  The dips were red pepper dip, olive oil & balsamic vinegar, garlic mayonnaise.  Their baguette is very nice, we wish we could buy baguette like this near here.

My husband’s main was Beef Bourguignon.  There was no vegetables so he ordered green beans as a side dish.

I had the Morteau Sausage & Potato Salad that I’ve had a few times.  It’s under ‘starter’ but I had it as a main.

Then we shared Pistachio Soufflé for dessert.

There was quite a big portion of baguette and I finished it all, so I was very very full after this lunch.

Maybe not many people eat out in January, they are having a campaign of offering a half price for main dishes for between 2 and 14 people.  This was part of the reason we decided to go here but I’d forgotten it when we ordered and ended up ordering a starter dish for the main!  So just my husband’s main dish was half the price.  We had 2 glasses of wine, a bottle of sparkling water and the bill was £65 including the service charge.
