暑いです！今、２４度。２４度で暑いって、どうなの？（笑）やはり、イギリスの低めの気温に慣れてしまったのでしょうね。外で日陰で座っていれば心地よいのですが、何かをするたびに汗をかきます。夫はすっかりラーメンが大好きになって、最近は日曜日にはラーメンを食べることが多いのですが、「ラーメン食べるには暑い」ということになり、冷たい麺にすることにしました。そう言えば、お友達のお料理教室、La Table Enchantee の今月のレッスンの中の１品にベトナム風和え麺があったっけ、と思い、急に思いついたのでレシピ通りには出来なかったので参考程度にし、見た目は中華冷麺風のなんちゃってですが、とても美味しかったです。ドレッシングは、ナンプラーとライム汁とお砂糖で作る普段良く作るタイ料理のサラダに使うものにして、チリ入りのオリーブオイルを足してピリッとさせて、麺は氷見うどんをつかいました。ドレッシングが馴染まないかもと思いましたがそうでもなく、ちゃんと馴染んでくれました。つるつるの食感も美味しかったです。

It is hot!!  Uncomfortably hot!  It’s 24C now and I cannot believe it’s only that.  I guess I got used to the cool/cold weather here.  It’s comfortable to sit outside in the shade but I get hot and bothered as soon as I do anything.  My husband loves Ramen now (he didn’t used to) and wants to have Ramen on Sundays, but we said “It’s too hot for hot Ramen?” and decided to have cold noodles instead.  This month’s Zoom cooking class of La Table Enchantee included a cold Vietnamese noodle salad, so I sort of referred to the recipe for that.  We didn’t have everything we needed for the ingredients so I didn’t try to make it just what the recipe says, I made my usual Thai salad dressing (fish sauce, lime juice & sugar) with some chilli olive oil and used some tomatoes, onion, cucumber and coriander on top of Japanese special udon noodles, it looks more like Chinese cold noodles (in a Japanese way) but tasted sort of Asian and it was actually very tasty and we enjoyed it.

キッチンとダイニングにエアコンをつける場所があればつけたいのですが、壁がないんです。わたしのクラフトルームにはエアコンがありますので暑くなったらクラフトルームで涼めますが、かわいそうに、クラフトルームの上にある夫のお部屋は暑すぎて夫はずっとキッチンの椅子に座って本を読んだりしています。

I wish there was space where we can install an air-conditioning unit in the kitchen or dining room, but there is no spare wall.  Fortunately, I have an air-conditioning unit in my craft room so whenever I get too hot we can come into the craft room to cool down, but my poor husband has been sitting in the kitchen because his room, which is above my craft room, is really hot in this weather.
