今日、セブンイレブンに行った時にわらび餅を買ったので、おやつにいただきました。美味しかったです。わらび餅ってイギリス人にどう説明したら良いのかわかりません、イギリスには存在しない食感だし。夫は、お餅もわらび餅も大好きです。コンビニで買う甘いものやスナック菓子も日本での楽しみの1つです。

When we were at 7-11, we bought Warabi-mochi and we had it for a snack. I don’t know how to explain what Warabi-mochi is like, as there isn’t anything similar in England. I suppose it is similar to mochi (rice cake) but with a much softer texture and is covered with a mixture of soy bean powder and sugar. Sweets and snacks that you can get in these convenience stores are also something I enjoy in Japan.

そして、すぐ近くにあるパン屋さんで買ったさつまいものマフィンも半分ずつ。これも、とっても美味しかったです。日本のさつまいもは甘くてねっとりしていて、とても美味しい。もう1つのマフィンは、明日のお楽しみ。

We also shared a sweet potato muffin that we bought from a bakery nearby and it was delicious. Japanese sweet potatoes are so sweet. We’ll enjoy the other muffin tomorrow.
