今日も、よく降りました。明日は午後から回復して数日は降らないみたいです。
It rained a lot this afternoon again, but it looks like it’ll get better tomorrow and won’t rain for a couple of days.
今日の夕食は、久しぶりにたこ焼きにしてみました。実家では時々たこ焼きを夕食にしていましたが(たこ焼きが夕食って多分関西だけでしょうし、関西でも普通なのかどうかはわかりません)、結婚してからはたこ焼きを食べたことはほとんどなく、家でしたのは多分1回。母が粉物全体に大好きで、特にたこ焼きが好きだったので、たこ焼きというと母のことを想います。
Today’s dinner was Takoyaki (octupus balls). I don’t think they are know very much here in the UK, but it’s a common Japanese snack. You pour a very runny pancake batter type of thing into special cooking pan that has a series of half-sphere shaped holes, then add fillings (usually chopped green onion, pickled ginger, deep-fried batter and a piece of octopus), and allow to cook, turning the balls to get them browned evenly. It is very popular as a snack all over Japan, but especially in the Kansai (West Japan) area. I don’t know if it’s usual or not but we used to have it for evening meals now and again at home. My Mum loved them so whenever I see them I think of her. However, it’s not something we cook much at home here – this is probably the 2nd time we’ve done it in this house.
わたしも夫もタコはあまり好きではないので、具はタコ以外のもの。以前1度した時は普通におネギや天かすや紅生姜のもの以外にはパンチェッタとソーセージを使いましたが、今日はもっといろいろ変わり種も用意してみました。ネギ、天かす、紅生姜、パンチェッタ、ソーセージ、チーズ、お餅、キムチ、トマト、そしてデザート用にマシュマロ、チョコレート、ピーカンナッツ。
My husband and I don’t like octopus so we don’t use that, instead last time we used pancetta or/and Japanese sausages as well as usual green onion, pickled ginger and tenkasu (deep-fried batter). This time we used some other ingredients, which are a bit unusual like cheese, mochi, kimchee, petite tomatoes and even marshmallow, chocolate and pecan nuts as sweet version.
生地は、
薄力粉 100g
出し(我が家はチキン) 300g
卵 1個(1個しかなかったのです)
The batter is made of :
100g cake flour
300g soup stock (usually fish stock but we used chicken stock)
1 egg (should have used 1.5 but we only had 1 egg left)
ネット検索して4人分が200gの粉だったので半分にしましたが、おやつなら十分すぎる量ですが夕食には少し足りませんでした、次回は150gにしようと思います。
After searching online, I used 100g of cake flour because the recipe I used said 200g for 4 people. Maybe it was for snack size portions because it wasn’t enough for us, we’ll use 150g next time.
色々少しずつ作って食べてみました。デザート用のマシュマロ、チョコレート、ピーカンナッツもたくさん食べようとは思いませんが1つだけデザートに食べてみて、それなりに美味しかったです。夫は、ソーセージのとデザートのが一番好きだそうです、わたしは一番普通のおネギたっぷりに天かすと紅生姜、そしてもう1つはソーセージが一番好みかな。キムチとお餅も美味しかったです。色々な具を試すのは楽しかったですし、どれも美味しかったです。夫も楽しんでくれたみたいで、何よりでした。
We had a few of each filling or filling combinations. My husband particularly liked the ones with Japanese sausage and also the sweet one. I particularly liked the ordinary ones and also Japanese sausage ones and also a kimchee and mochi combination, but they were all very tasty and it was fun to try different versions. Even the sweet one was nice, although I don’t think I want to eat a lot of it. My husband also seemed to have enjoyed the whole experience, which is great.
